Council concurred that Johansen be authorized front shield ($82.00 - $83.00) if he considers safety of operation of the mower. to purchase the it desirable for Request from Resistance Technology Inc. for Use of Booster Station Property Council was referred to Johansen's memo (5-21-82) relative to RTI's request for permission to use Booster Ststion property for picnic area for employees. Council concurred that RTI's request be granted for utilization of the City Booster Station property for picnic purposes as outlined in Johansen's memo. REPORT OF VILLAGE CLERK ADMINISTRATOR CHARLOTTE MC NIESH . Treasurer's Report (Absent) Investments McNiesh reported the following investments by Treasurer Donald Lamb: $250,000 at Northwestern National Bank, St. Paul, @ 13.504 interest, to mature 6/21/82 $326,102.43 at First Bank, St. Paul @ 13.40% interest, to mature 7-19-82 Mulcahy moved, seconded by McAllister, that Council ratify the Treasurer's investments. Motion carried unanimously (5-0). McNiesh reported that the Bond Issue settlement date is Wednes- day, May 26th at 9:30 a.m.; interest from May 1st is $20,386.00; total investment of $3,348,579.83 will be handled by Treaaurer Lamb by long distance telephone. Payroll Hicks moved, seconded by Johnson, that Council approve the Payroll as submitted. Motion carried unanimously (5-0). Troie's Sanitation Rate Increase McNiesh reported notification of a rate increase from $6.00 to $7.00/month by Troje's Sanitation, effective July 1, 1982. " No Council action required. Newsletter Committee Meeting McNiesh reported the next Newsletter Committee Meeting will be on June 16th at 6:45 a.m. at the Steak Inn (not June 9th as printed on Town Crier Calendar). Claim for Printing of Town Crier Insert re Burglaries Council concurred that claim for printing of insert, in amount of $50.45, be authorized for payment by the City. Joint Shoreview/Arden Hills Meeting Council agreed to schedule a Joint Shoreview/ArdBn Hills Council . meeting at 7:30 p.m. on June 1st at the Arden Hills Village Hall, subject to Shoreview's concurrence. COUNCIL LIAISON REPORTS City Clean Up (Hicks) It was reported that the Public Works Committee discussed many in- cidents of illegal dumping of leaves and grass clippings in drain- age ditches and on vacant properties; suggested there be a two week period allotted for leaf burning each year; suggested a pen- alty be imposed for illegal dumping; also expressed concern re poor maintenance of various homes and yarda and parking of in- operable cara, boats, trailers etc. , -6-
