<br />Minutes of Regular Council Meeting <br /> <br />May 24, 1982 .. <br /> <br />Council concurred that Johansen be authorized <br />front shield ($82.00 - $83.00) if he considers <br />safety of operation of the mower. <br /> <br />to purchase the <br />it desirable for <br /> <br />Request from Resistance Technology Inc. for Use of Booster <br />Station Property <br />Council was referred to Johansen's memo (5-21-82) relative to RTI's <br />request for permission to use Booster Ststion property for picnic <br />area for employees. <br /> <br />Council concurred that RTI's request be granted for utilization of <br />the City Booster Station property for picnic purposes as outlined <br />in Johansen's memo. <br /> <br />REPORT OF VILLAGE CLERK ADMINISTRATOR CHARLOTTE MC NIESH <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Treasurer's Report <br />(Absent) <br /> <br />Investments <br />McNiesh reported the following investments by Treasurer Donald <br />Lamb: <br />$250,000 at Northwestern National Bank, St. Paul, <br />@ 13.504 interest, to mature 6/21/82 <br /> <br />$326,102.43 at First Bank, St. Paul @ 13.40% <br />interest, to mature 7-19-82 <br /> <br />Mulcahy moved, seconded by McAllister, that Council ratify the <br />Treasurer's investments. Motion carried unanimously (5-0). <br /> <br />McNiesh reported that the Bond Issue settlement date is Wednes- <br />day, May 26th at 9:30 a.m.; interest from May 1st is $20,386.00; <br />total investment of $3,348,579.83 will be handled by <br />Treaaurer Lamb by long distance telephone. <br /> <br />Payroll <br />Hicks moved, seconded by Johnson, that Council approve the Payroll <br />as submitted. Motion carried unanimously (5-0). <br /> <br />Troie's Sanitation Rate Increase <br />McNiesh reported notification of a rate increase from $6.00 to <br />$7.00/month by Troje's Sanitation, effective July 1, 1982. <br />" <br /> <br />No Council action required. <br /> <br />Newsletter Committee Meeting <br />McNiesh reported the next Newsletter Committee Meeting will be on <br />June 16th at 6:45 a.m. at the Steak Inn (not June 9th as printed on <br />Town Crier Calendar). <br /> <br />Claim for Printing of Town Crier Insert re Burglaries <br />Council concurred that claim for printing of insert, in amount of <br />$50.45, be authorized for payment by the City. <br /> <br />Joint Shoreview/Arden Hills Meeting <br />Council agreed to schedule a Joint Shoreview/ArdBn Hills Council . <br />meeting at 7:30 p.m. on June 1st at the Arden Hills Village Hall, <br />subject to Shoreview's concurrence. <br /> <br />COUNCIL LIAISON REPORTS <br /> <br />City Clean Up (Hicks) <br />It was reported that the Public Works Committee discussed many in- <br />cidents of illegal dumping of leaves and grass clippings in drain- <br />age ditches and on vacant properties; suggested there be a two <br />week period allotted for leaf burning each year; suggested a pen- <br />alty be imposed for illegal dumping; also expressed concern re <br />poor maintenance of various homes and yarda and parking of in- <br />operable cara, boats, trailers etc. <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />-6- <br />
