.

,

,

Nevertheless, I want to emphasize that I like it the way it is.
Thank you.

.

MAN IN AUDIENCE: If we're going to get that road crammed
down our throat, has anybody looked at' the possibility of just
ending Royal Oak Development, or whatever it is, right there
and ending Norma Avenue right where those two cul-de-sacs come
across and not have a thoroughfare? We would have a little
increase and they would have a little increase.

MAYOR WOODBURN: I think you're referring to isolating or
cutting off Royal.oaks.

MAN IN AUDIENCE: Have Royal Oaks only going onto Floral
Drive.

MAYOR WOODBURN: In other words, what you're referring to
(Changed Tape) . . .

MR. CHRISTOFFERSEN: ... lengthen the length of the
cul-de-sac street. You're shortening one cul-de-sac and
making Floral Drive longer. If it was cut off right here, this
cul-de-sac street would, in effect, be shorter, but this one
wou+d then be longer.

MAN IN AUDIENCE: Why would it be any longer?

MR. CHRISTOFFERSEN: If it loops through, you do not have
a cul-de-sac. We have short cul-de-sacs along here. This
would be a long dead-end street.

MAN IN AUDIENCE: I would end Norma Avenue right there -
straight across from where that road goes.

MR. CHRISTOFFERSEN: I'm still saying - if this ended
right here, it would still be a long dead-end street from right
here, clear up to there. '

MAN IN AUDIENCE: You could change that lot arrangement.

.

MR. CHRISTOFFERSEN: Because of the terrain on these lots,
the developer has submi tted at least two plans that I am aware
of, to try to develop the area and it's pretty restricted
because it has pretty steep slopes.

MAN IN AUDIENCE: I think it's an alternative to look at
because I think it would make both sides a little happier if
that road has to go through, which I don't think it has to.

MAN IN AUDIENCE: Are there any guidelines for the length
of cul-de-sacs, as it relates to what the Council has used
before or any municipality uses and does this go beyond those
normal guidelines?

26
