(4-0) REPORT OF VILLAGE ENGINEER DONALD CHRISTOFFERSEN Status Report - New BriRhton Interceptor . Engineer advised most of the information regarding status of sewer interceptor was previously stated under Status of Easements. Bid Award for Elevated Water StoraRe Tank Engineer reviewed the bids received for the two types of storage tanks (fluted pillar and pedestal spheroid) and for the two capacities (I million and 1.5 million gallons). Christoffersen recommended Council award the bid to Hydrostorage for the 1 minion gallon capacity, fluted pillar tank in the amount of $792,200.00: Hicks asked if the 1 million gallon tank would be sufficient for any future development in Arden Hills. Christoffersen stated that since the Arsenal had not expressed any interest in service from the water tank, the 1 million gallon tank would serve any future development in the City. Hansen asked if there were any bids received from local contractors. Engineer advised there are no contractors in Minnesota who build water storage tanks. There was discussion regarding painting the Ardem Hills logo on the tank. Engineer advised this was omitted from the bid to keep costs lower and in the past Councils have'directed not to .identifytower. Sather asked if this matter could be held until full Council was present to vote on an expenditure of this magnitude. Contractor hopes to complete foundations this fall, a two week delay might preclude this. Moved by Hicks, seconded by Hansen, that Council award contract to Hydrostorage for a Fluted Pillar, One Million Gallon Capacity Elevated Water Storage Tank, in the amount of $792,200.00. Motion carried. (3-1) (Hicks, Hansen, Woodburn voting in favor, Sather in opposition) REPORT OF VILLAGE PLANNER ORLYN MILLER Case No. 86-32, Setback Variance for GaraRe Construction, 1369 Forest Lane, Marlvs Nixon Council was referred to Board of Appeals Minutes 9-25-86 and Planning Commission Minutes of 10-1-86, both recommending approval of the Variance request. . Miller reviewed his report of 9-23-86 and displayed a drawing of the proposed garage addition. Councilmember Hansen reviewed the Planning Commission discussion and concerns regarding this application. Hansen moved, seconded by Sather, that Council approve the 10 ft. Setback Variance for Garage Construction, 1369 Forest Lane, Marlys Nixon, as submitted. Motion carried unanimously. (4-0) Case No. 86-33, Minor SubdiviSion/Lot Split and Front Lot Width Variance, 2026 Stowe Avenue, Viola Stone Council was referred to Board of Appeals Minutes 9-25-86 and Planning Commission Minutes of 10-1-86, both recommending approval of the Variance request.
