<br />. <br /> <br />Minutes of Regular Council Meeting, September 8, 1986 <br />Page 5 <br /> <br />Sidewalk Li~hts - Villa~e Hall <br />Council was referred to Raddatz's memo (9-5-86), re installing low intensity <br />lights along the sidewalk at City Hall. Raddatz stated he would obtain pictures <br />and price quotes for Council review at a future meeting. <br /> <br />RepaintinR - VillaRe Hall Interior <br />Raddatz reported on the color scheme and cost for repainting the City Hall <br />interior. He advised the painting of the employees offices would be done during <br />evening hours. Estimated cost of materials is $300, and was budgeted in 1986. <br />Public Works personnel will do the painting. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Hot Water Pressure Washer <br />Council was referred to Raddatz's memo (9-5-86) regarding purchase of this item <br />for use in the shop on City equipment <br /> <br />Hicks moved, seconded by Peck, that Council authorize the purchase of a hot <br />water pressure washer for use in the Public Works Department on City equipment, <br />such purchase not to exceed the $3,000 as provided in the 1986 budget. Motion <br />carried unanimously. (5-0) <br /> <br />Swmner Help <br />Raddatz reviewed status of swmner help employees for Council. <br /> <br />Sale of CSO Car <br />Council was referred to Raddatz's memo (9-5-86) which explained a proposal for <br />selling CSO vehicle and replacing it each year thereafter with the Ramsey <br />County Sheriff Department car purchased by the City. He advised that costs <br />would be minimal, as the old cars are stripped and City equipment is added. <br />Raddatz stated a cage (behind the seat), and a new radio would be purchased <br />this year and reused each year thereafter. He also felt the car should be <br />repainted Arden Hills green. Total cost for 1986 would be $385, which includes <br />a new cage, if needed ($85), paint ($150), tune up and small items ($150). <br /> <br />Sather moved, seconded by Peck, that Council authorize the procedure for <br />replacement of the CSO car as recommended by Public Works Supervisor. Motion <br />carried unanimously. (5-0) <br /> <br />Status on Miscellaneous Projects <br />Raddatz advised Council sealcoating would begin on Wednesday of this week, <br />patching would be done on Tuesday. He stated patching on Snelling would be put <br />off for approximately one year until Royal Hills area is closer to completion. <br /> <br />Mayor Woodburn advised that patching had been completed on both sides of <br />Glenhill Road. <br /> <br />Raddatz explained the agreement that had been reached with Roseville regarding <br />responsibility for plowing/patching in that area. <br /> <br />Human RiRhts Committee Resi~nation <br />Bartolo Martinez has submitted his resignation from the Human Rights <br />Commission; he is moving to Vadnais Heights. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Hicks moved, seconded by Hansen, that Council accept the resignation of Bartolo <br />Martinez from the Commission, and a letter of appreciation be sent to him. <br />Motion carried unanimously. (5-0) <br /> <br />Ord. No. 242 - Holidays - Final Readin~ <br />Hansen moved, seconded by Peck, that Council suspend rules and waived the <br />reading. Motion carried unanimously (5-0) <br /> <br />Sather asked if Martin Luther King Holiday would be added as a "paid" holiday. <br /> <br />McNiesh advised it would be an unpaid holiday; the State requires the offices <br />be closed that day. <br /> <br />Hansen moved, seconded by Peck, that Council adopt Ordinance No. 242, AMENDING <br />CITY CODE SECTION 19-48, HOLIDAYS: DELETING CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS DAY AND ADDING <br />FRIDAY AFTER THANKSGIVING DAY. Motion carried unanimously. (5-0) <br />
