McNiesh reported <br /> that the deputies do keep track of the warnings issued; repeaters are given <br /> citations. <br /> It was also noted that blowing snow from driveways onto a plowed street <br /> is also against the law. <br /> Hamline Avenue Improvement <br /> . Hansen asked if the engineers would be present at the December 30 meeting <br /> to answer questions. It was Council's understanding that they should be <br /> present. McNiesh suggested that questions be given to her so she can relay <br /> them to the engineers for answers prior to the meeting. <br /> REPORT OF CLERK ADMINISTRATOR CHARLOTTE MCNIESH <br /> Approval of Election Jud~es - Special Elections for County Commissioner <br /> Council was referred to list of Election Judges who have agreed to serve <br /> on the January 7 and January 21 Election and Counting Boards. McNiesh <br /> noted that one more is needed in Precinct 5, on the daytime board (3 is <br /> the minimum required by law). <br /> Hicks moved, seconded by Hansen, that Council approve the Election Boards, <br /> as submitted, for the January 7 and January 21 elections. Motion carried <br /> unanimously. (4-0) <br /> Resolution No. 85-65 Establishin Sewer Availabilit Effective <br /> 1/1 86 <br /> McNiesh reported that the SAC rate has been increased, by the Metropolitan <br /> Waste Control Commission, from $425.00 to $475.00, effective January I, <br /> 1986; explained that City ordinances require that fees be established by <br /> resolution adopted by the Council. <br /> Sather moved, seconded by Hicks, that Council adopt Resolution No. 85-65. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. (4-0) <br /> Recommendation - Purchase of Microcomputer <br /> Council was referred to McNiesh's memo (12/13/85) and attached price quota- <br /> tions. <br /> McNiesh recommended the purchase of an IBM PC-AT enhanced microcomputer <br /> from AmeriData, with Multimate Word Processing and Lotus 123 Spreadsheet <br /> software packages, and an Okidata dot matrix printer, at a cost of $6,672.20, <br /> and the purchase of an adaptor" for the Quietwriter typewriter to tie into <br /> the computer, at a cost of $150.00. McNiesh said she proposes to draw <br /> a check for $5,000 in 1985 and pay the balance in January 1986, if Council <br /> approves the purchases. <br /> In discussion, the following suggestions were made: <br /> - Look into a better quality monitor. <br /> - Purchase a printer cover ($185.00) <br /> . - Check to see that printer has a variable width tractor to take all <br /> paper widths. <br /> - Floppy disks to be double-sided, double density. <br /> Hansen moved, seconded by Sather, that Council authorize the purchase of <br /> the microcomputer as outlined in memo. Motion carried unanimously. (4-0) <br /> Special Council Meetin~ - Joint Meetin~ with Shoreview City Council January <br /> 9 at Shoreview City Hall <br /> Council was referred to letter from Shoreview (11/22/85) requesting a <br /> meeting with Arden Hills' Council to discuss matters of mutual interest. <br /> McNiesh reported that January 9 has been suggested as an available date <br /> for the Shoreview Council. <br />
