<br />Minutes of Regular Council Meeting, April 29, 1985 <br />Page two <br /> <br />M.S.A.S. DesiRnation <br />Christoffersen said he will work on the Snelling, Colleen, McClung requested <br />M.S.A.S. Designation with MnDOT in an attempt to include these in the <br />Minnesota State Aid System. <br /> <br />REPORT OF VILLAGE PARKS DIRECTOR JOHN BUCKLEY <br /> <br />Arbor Day <br />Buckley reported a successful Arbor Day; reported 40 individuals (parents <br />and children) participated at Cummings, Hazelnut and Arden Oaks parks; <br />reported that the trees do dress up the parks and will be beautiful in <br />time. <br /> <br />A roval of S rin and Summer Em 10 ees and Pro ram Personnel <br />Council was referred to Buckley's memos of 4 25/85 re employment of summer ... <br />maintenance and spring and summer program personnel. <br /> <br />Hansen moved, seconded by Peck, that Council authorize the hiring of <br />the summer parks maintenance personnel as outlined in Buckley's memo. <br />Motion carried unanimously. (4-0) <br /> <br />Hansen moved, seconded by Sather, that Council authorize the hiring of <br />spring and summer program personnel as outlined in Buckley's memo. Motion <br />carried unanimously. (4-0) <br /> <br />1985 Capital Outlay for Equipment <br />Council was referred to Buckley's Proposed Capital Expenditures for Summer <br />of 1985 which are budgeted to complete certain park projects. Buckley <br />reported he proposes to secure quotations for the listed items, for Council's <br />consideration prior to purchase. <br /> <br />In discussion, the need for a pick-up" truck versus car was queried; Buqkley <br />explained that the pick-up truck is preferred; would provide multiple <br />uses; feels the 1975 Maverick should be replaced; has run 100,000 miles. <br /> <br />Public Works Supervisor Raddatz was asked why the 1980 Public Works pick-up <br />is proposed to be traded. Raddatz said it needs tires and work; body <br />is in pretty good shape; seat has"holes; body is beginning to rust; wind- <br />shield needs replacement - will cost some money; could keep it another <br />year. <br /> <br />Hansen moved, seconded by Sather, that Council accept the Proposed Capital <br />Expenditures for Summer of 1985, including the 1/2 ton pick-up, as proposed <br />by Buckley. Motion carried unanimously. (4-0) <br /> <br />No Parkin Si ns - Cummin s Park at W crest Court Cul-de-Sac <br />Council reviewed Buckley's memo of 4 26/85 relative to a resident complaint <br />that the cul-de-sac is being used for parking of cars, instead of the <br />CDC parking lot. <br /> <br />Buckley reported that when the park was constructed, a verbal commitment <br />was made to keep parking on the cul-de-sac at a low ebb; reported that <br />the residents want "No Parking" signs on the cul-de-sac. <br /> <br />Hansen moved, seconded by Peck, that Council authorize the installation <br />of "No Parking" signs on Wyncrest Court cul-de-sac. Motion carried unanimously. <br />(4-0) <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Park Tour <br />Buckley invited Council to tour the City parks on Thursday, May 23rd; <br />tour group will leave the City Hall at 6:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Request to Waive Special Use Permit Requirement for Land Reclamation - <br />GeorRe Bona <br /> <br />Council was referred to letter (4/17/85) from John G. Bell, Attorney <br />for George Bona, requesting that the Special Use Permit requirements <br />
