Request to Extend Variance to September 1, 1985 - Nelson, 3575 Siems Court Hicks moved, seconded by Hansen, that Council approve the extension of the Variance (Case No. 84-7) until September 1, 1985, as re- quested. Motion carried unanimously. (5-0) Mulcahy suggested that Council may wish to reconsider the original variance request which was denied, in part, resulting in the loss of a garage access door, which was desired by the applicant. Bid Tabulation - Impr. Nos. SS-W-P-ST-84-1 and 84-3 (Roval Hills North and McClunq 3rd Addition Council was referred to Engineer Christoffersen's letter of 9/21/84, recommending award of the contract to the low bidder, and to tabulation of 8 bids received. McNiesh reported that the City Attorney suggests that the award of bid be postponed pending certain road condemnation proceedings. (5-0) Ordinance No. 234, An Ordinance Amending Chapter 3 of Arden Hills COdeh Alcoholic Beverages, to Delete Prohibition of Sale of Alco olic Beverages on State Wide Election Days - Introduce Bv Title Hicks moved, seconded by Hansen, that Council introduce by title Ordinance No. 234, AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 3 OF ARDEN HILLS CODE, THE ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES CHAPTER, BY DELETING SECTIONS THEREIN PROHIBITING SALES OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ON ELECTION DAYS. Motion carried unanimously. Negotiations with International Union of Operating Engineers Rauenhorst reported she had one meeting, and will have another in a few days; asked Council's guideline in-put; referred Council to her letter and asked that Councilmembers call her if they have any comments. Other Business Joint Fire Board Proposal Hansen referred Council to Proposal of Joint Fire Board - September 19, 1984. . Deferred to meeting of October 15th. Planning Memo of September 18, 1984 from Orlyn Miller re Parking and Truck Unloading Activities - Presbyterian Homes Hicks noted that parking at the day-care facility, across Johanna Blvd. from Presbyterian Homes, is also in violation of parking re- quirements and its Special Use Permit; suggested this also be in- cluded in the discussion, with the Planning memo. October 3rd Planning Commission Meeting Hansen agreed to attend, as liaison, for Hicks. Cable TV Complaints Woodburn reported that Group W is not resolving some of the complaints reported to the Cable Commission. McNiesh was requested to obtain complaints, over a month old, from Roger Franke and report to Council on October 15th.
