' <br /> <br />Minutes of Regular Council Meeting <br />Tuesday, May 29, 1984 - 7:30 p.m. <br />Pllge Five <br /> <br />Committee Appointments <br /> <br />Finance Committee - Dave Hesley, 1887 Beckman, was present and briefly <br />Informed Council of his qualifications and reasons for volunteering to <br />serve on the Finance Committee. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />McNiesh reported that Mr. Hesley and Barbara Piotrowski, 3766 Brighton <br />Way North, visited the May Finance Committee meeting; both hllve <br />volunteered to serve. McNlesh reported the Committee now consists of <br />10 members. <br /> <br />Rauenhorst suggested that the applicants submit resumes for Council review. <br />Council concurred to defer appointment until a later meeting. <br /> <br />Human RIQhts Commission <br />McNlesh reported that 18 people have volunteered to serve on the Human <br />Rights Commission; noted that the Commission Is currently meeting quarterly. <br /> <br />Council concurred that the Human Rights meeting Agenda be sent to 1111 <br />volunteers, and list of names, with cllpsule Information on each appllcan~ <br />be sent to Human Rights Chairman. <br /> <br />OTHER BUSINESS <br /> <br />Public Works Rate Comparison <br />Hicks referred to article re public works employees In St. Paul; asked how <br />Arden HII Is Public Works rates compare. McNlesh reported that 1983 Arden HI lis <br />rates were slightly higher; has not received 1984 data to date. <br /> <br />Board of Appeals NeetlnQ <br />Hicks reported that he may not be able to attend the May 31st Board of Appeals <br />Meeting (7:30 p.m. - Village Hall). Council concurred that Planner's attendance <br />is probably not necessllry; Planner's letter and other background Information <br />have been forwarded to the CommIttee. <br /> <br />Walkwav <br />Rauenhorst reported receipt of an Inquiry as to why there Is no walkway along <br />Lexington Avenue between County Roads 0 and E, when all other sections have a <br />walkway. <br /> <br />(McNlesh will research and report her findings). <br />REPORT OF CLERK ADMINISTRATOR CHARLOTTE McNIESH <br /> <br />ReslQnatlon - Committee Secretarv Helen Schmidt <br />Council was referred to letter of resignatIon from Helen Schmidt; resignation <br />effective May 31, 1984. <br /> <br />McNlesh reported that Helen has agreed to do the June 4th Public Safety Committee <br />Minutes; reported that Shirley Marshall, former Committee Secretary, wll I help <br />out "on occasion" only. McNlesh said she will put a notice In the Town Crier <br />for applicants; suggested that, in the InterIm perhaps minutes can be taken <br />by a committee member. <br /> <br />. Councl I tabled action pending results of Town Crier advertisement for applicants. <br /> <br />ClaIms and Pavroll <br />Hicks moved, seconded by Rauenhorst, that Council approve the Claims and Payrol I <br />as submitted. Motion carried unanimously. (5-0) <br /> <br />Bussard Property Spilt <br />McNle~h reported that the recent spilt of a 20' x 700' parcel from the Bussard <br />property has triggered a request from Ramsey County to apportion assessments. <br />McNlesh reported the deferred assessments would also have to paid out; noted <br />that the parcel Is a very small portion of the total property; reported that <br />Mr. Bussard prefers to not have any assessments apportioned to this small <br />parcel and wants the deferment continued. <br /> <br />Council concurred with the request as outlined by McNlesh. <br />
