The <br /> I Retreat is tentatively scheduled for March 1, 1996 and Staff should be prepared to <br /> review the final format prior to this date. <br /> I Agenda Item 3e <br /> Water Svstem Modifications <br /> I Mr. Dwayne Stafford, Public Works Superintendent, discussed the problems with <br /> the water towers and his proposed solution to same, Mr. Stafford indicated that <br /> because of the inadequacy of the system the electric bills are much too expensive <br /> I and over a period of two years, after corrections are made, we would be seeing a <br /> sizable savings, He indicated that the City Engineer would also assess the <br /> proposed improvements to the South Tower, <br /> I Council directed Staff to complete parts 2 and 3 of the proposed modifications <br /> and should work with the City Engineer on the modifications to improve capacity <br /> I at the South Water Tower. <br /> I Agenda Item 3f <br /> Gateway Business District <br /> Mr. Ringwald queried the Council if any specific modifications to the GBD were <br /> -- required, based on the Unisource presentation (Item a). None was given. <br /> Agenda Item 3g <br /> I Department Head/Administrator Comments <br /> Mr. Fritsinger, City Administrator, discussed the MASC proposed ice arenas. He <br /> indicated at this time, there was not a great deal of information to share. He and <br /> I Cindy Walsh, Parks and Recreation Director indicated they are meeting with the <br /> Local Youth Hockey Associations, even though Anoka County has indicated that <br /> the Hockey Associations will not be a part of the formal bonding process. <br /> I A pond located in Indian Oaks is being proposed to be donated to the City of <br /> Arden Hills according to Mr. Kevin Ringwald, Community Development <br /> I Director. Council directed Staff to contact the donor and to proceed, <br /> I Councilmember Malone expressed concern regarding the City's liability dealing <br /> with the Lake Johanna Fire Department.
