Excluding electrical permits, the City is estimating that the 1996 revenues from protective I inspections to be $258,500 ($220,000 - Building Permits, $34,000 - Heating Permits, and $4,500 - Plumbing Permits), Based on the creation of the full-time position, the expected cost savings to the City would be I $51,000 annually ($70,000 + $25,000 - $44,000). Whv does the Creation of This Position Make Sense? I Increased customer service is the first reason. Currently, by contracting these services, the customer service support provided is minimal. The fact that these service providers provide the I same services to other cities only allows for minimal office time, Mr. Kriesel spends only one hour per day at City Hall, and Mr. Pakoy keeps no office hours at City Hall.
