CITY OF ARDEN HILLS MEMORANDUM I DATE: November 22, 1996 I TO: Brian Fritsinger, City Administrator I FROM: Terrance Post, City Accountan@ I SUBJECT: Finance Department November Report ~ Monthly activity has been dominated by third quarter utility billing collections ($277K) and I an extraordinary level of utility customer follow-up requests/actions. I ~ Presentation materials for the December 5, 1996 Truth-in-Taxation Public Hearing are assembled and reflect Council comments at the 11/18/96 Worksession. Preliminary 1997 Budget revision recommendations will be presented by the City Administrator in early I December. ~ Finance has been working with Mr. Stafford to evaluate, cost, and prioritize a number of .. potential Enterprise Fund capital projects, including residential water meter replacement, non-residential water meter replacement, water tower/booster station SKADA system, water main replacement, sanitary sewer I & I study/line evaluation, sewer lift station SKADA I controls system, sewer lift station equipment rebuild/retrofit and sewer line problem area corrective actions (relining/replacement). I ~ Abdo, Abdo & Eiek will be on site on December 6, 1996 for preliminary year-end field work. For your information, engagement partner Gary Groen has left the firm of Abdo, I Abdo & Eiek to start his own practice. Intermediate Clerk, Celine Syfko, will be taking two Windows training classes this quarter. ~ I ~ On November 5, 1996, a 4M PLUS account was opened. This Money Market Fund has a slightly longer duration (90 days) than the 4M Liquid Asset Fund, and should result in a I yield increase of approximately .25%. ~ At the November 27, 1996 Finance Committee meeting, a draft copy of the Truth-in- I Taxation materials was presented and input requested.
