MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: November 22, 1996 <br /> I TO: Brian Fritsingcr, City Administrator ~ <br /> I FROM: Dwayne Stafford, Public Works Superintendent \ S. <br /> SUBJECT: Monthly Update <br /> I <br /> Public Works/Public Safety Committee <br /> I the Public Works/Public Safety Committee met on November 21. There were four (4) items on <br /> the agenda. <br /> I 1. Arden I-Ells Water Supply Security. <br /> 2. A Petition by Carol Linders for "Slow Children at Play" signs on Prior Avenue and <br /> I Glenpaul Avenue. <br /> 3. A request by Tom Lynch to cut grass and weeds along Arden Hills streets. Specifically, <br /> .. Ingerson and Hamline which the County maintained and cut until the recent turnback. <br /> I 4. A recommendation on the assessment policy for property owners along the County <br /> Roads. <br /> I The Committee recommended that additional security should be provided for the two (2) water <br /> towers and the booster station specifically, dead bolt locks and a monitored intruder alarm <br /> system. <br /> I The Committee did not make a decision on the other three (3) items, but agreed to discuss them <br /> further at the next meeting in January. <br /> I Public Works Department <br /> The Public Works stafflocated and repaired two (2) water main leaks on County Road E in front <br /> I of the Holiday Inn. These were difficult leaks to locate as the water followed the leaking pipe <br /> from the leaks on the south side of the road and bubbled up at a valve on the north side. Staff <br /> I noticed that the condition of the pipe in this area is in poor condition and the City may expect <br /> problems here in the future. <br /> I The streets have been plowed twice so far this month and a third timc secms likely. <br /> No parking signs wcrc installed on the rural portion of County Road F, and some miscellaneous <br /> it signs were repaired and replaced. Routine Public Works maintenance continues daily. <br /> I <br />
