Councilmember Mahowald referred to the memorandum from <br />TOWERS ORDINANCE Berger dated 6-1-89 and suggested staff review the <br />current Ordinance relating to satellite antennae. <br />Council concurred to direct the Planner and Staff to survey surrounding <br />communities relative to requirements for satellite antennae and make <br />recommendation regarding an Ordinance amendment. <br />Council discussed reviewing Federal Laws pertaining to Ham Radio Antennae and <br />operators; no action was taken on this matter. <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS <br />BUDGET TIMETABLE Councilmember Mahowald questioned if the current budget <br />schedule presented to Council by the Clerk Administrator <br />is still appropriate. <br />Berger explained the Governor has vetoed the current Tax Bill and he would be <br />attending a session at the League of Cities Conference to determine the impact of <br />this action; he advised Council he would report findings at the Worksession on <br />6-19-89. He noted he is adhering to the scheduled meeting dates with Department <br />Heads and the Fire Chief relative to budget preparation. <br />Council discussed placing an article in the Town Crier to advise residents of the <br />uncertainty of their property taxes in 1989 and how the tax dollars are <br />distributed; Mahowald stated he would discuss placement of an article in the Town <br />Crier with the Newsletter Committee at their next regular meeting. <br />MISC.;STREET Councilmember Mahowald questioned City policy relative to <br />CONSTRUCTION street construction by developers in conjunction with <br />residential plats. <br />Berger explained City Code allows developers to construct streets which conform <br />to Code requirements in residentially platted areas under the supervision of the <br />City Engineer; the cost of the improvements are assessed to the individual lots <br />and paid by the purchaser. <br />Mayor Sather advised the plans and specifications submitted may be correct, <br />however, there is the possibility the actual work may have been substandard. <br />Council discussed the streets that were constructed by private developers and <br />are now deteriorating; Bussard Court, Indian Oak Trail and Norma were some of the <br />streets mentioned. There was discussion relative to the need for Council to <br />determine an assessment policy for street reconstruction. <br />VEHICLES; Councilmember Hansen suggested staff review the number <br />1668 LK. JOHANNA and condition of the vehicles parked at 1668 Lake Johanna <br />BOULEVARD Boulevard. She noted the vehicles have been on the <br />property for over one year and are not currently <br />licensed, which is in violation of the City Ordinance. <br />Hansen stated she had previously discussed the matter with the Community Service <br />Officer and advised him she would contact the owner; she preferred to have staff <br />handle the matter. <br />MISC; VACATION Councilmember Hansen advised she would be on vacation <br />beginning June 28 through July 31. <br />
