Attachment B <br />-ARkEN HILLS <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br />POSITION DESCRIPTION <br />Position Title: Lead Worker — STREETS/ SURFACE WATER <br />Department: Public Works <br />Accountable to: Public Works Superintendent <br />Positions Supervised: Public Works Seasonal Employees <br />Status: Reqular Full Time <br />PRIMARY OBJECTIVES <br />Organizes and leads a crew of workers in street and surface water maintenance activities including prioritizing <br />daily work tasks and implementing long range goals concerning the City's roadway infrastructure and surface <br />water. Leads crews in troubleshooting and performing complex maintenance repairs to the City's roadway's <br />and surface water infrastructure. <br />Performs intermediate skilled trades work maintaining and repairing City streets, sanitary and storm sewers, <br />water systems, buildings, parks, playgrounds, athletic fields, trails, recreational facilities, vehicles, machinery, <br />various other equipment, and related duties as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the moderate <br />supervision of the Public Works Superintendent. <br />QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS <br />To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. <br />The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable <br />accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. <br />ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION <br />Leads a crew of workers in roadway maintenance activities by prioritizing work tasks, determining work <br />methods, and ensuring proper resources are used. <br />Monitors progress and reviews work output and results to determine if standards are met and takes corrective <br />action as needed. <br />Provides technical guidance to Public Works workers and seasonal staff and participates in training efforts. <br />Assists the Public Works Superintendent in developing work schedules and the Annual Public Works <br />Maintenance Plan. <br />Provides recommendations to the Public Works Superintendent for the hiring of seasonal employees. <br />Works with outside contractors and oversees and directs their work. <br />Dispatches employees during Public Works emergencies as directed by the Superintendent. <br />Enforces safety rules and procedures as outlined in the employee safety manual, OSHA rules and other <br />applicable regulations. <br />Ability to assist with other divisions Lead Worker duties in their absence. <br />
