Therefore, the City Attorney has drafted language to add to the Personnel Policy for "Minnesota <br />Paid Leave (MNPL)". Given the inclusion of this language, City staff requested that the City <br />Attorney complete a comprehensive review of all other leave provisions within the personnel <br />policy to make sure we were compliant with state law regulations (i.e. MNPL, Election Judge) as <br />well as consistent with our terminology and intent for the various types of leave. <br />Other personnel policy proposed amendments as recommended by the City Attorney: <br />• Breaks section is being amended to comply with law changes that go into effect January <br />1, 2026. <br />• Pregnancy and Parenting Leave to strike that employees are required to use accrued PTO <br />during leave. <br />• Elections/Election Judges/Time Off To Vote section is being amended to comply with <br />state law. <br />City Branded Clothing Policy: <br />The Personnel Committee discussed the City's clothing policy for permanent employees who do <br />not receive a uniform allowance. Below is the current schedule for the purchasing of apparel: <br />• Odd year: One polo -shirt with the Arden Hills logo embroidered <br />• Even year: One sweatshirt with the Arden Hills logo embroidered <br />Based on the review of policies of several adjacent communities, the Personnel Committee is <br />recommending the following amended schedule starting in 2026: <br />• Odd year: Each eligible employee is given an allowance of $50 to purchase apparel with <br />the Arden Hills logo embroidered through the City's selected vendor <br />• Even year: Each eligible employee is given an allowance of $70 to purchase apparel with <br />the Arden Hills logo embroidered through the City's selected vendor <br />Staff is recommending that all of the above new and amended personnel policy language be <br />effective January 1, 2026. <br />Budget Impact <br />N/A <br />Attachments <br />Attachment A: Draft Redlined Personnel Policy Amendments <br />Page 2 of 2 <br />
