Intermediate Accounting Clerk, Celine Syfko, attended a Windows training class, I processed a higher than normal number of final utility billings and prepared reading books for the first quarter water meter reads by the Public Warks staff. I . Senior Accounting Clerk, Jane Lund, took a vacation week off in which the running payroll #5 responsibilities were assumed by Celine Syfko as a result of cross-training. I Jane continues to assist with year-end audit preparation and assessment roll information. City Accountant, Terry Post, will issue the 1997 budget document this week. In addition, . .. ... I attended a one-day MGFOA Investment Seminar in St. Cloud. Seasonal workload responsibilities include analysis of 1997 street improvement funding, preparing for the year-end external audit, and evaluating cashflow needs/portfolio investment options. . Finance Committee . After reviewing minutes of the February meeting (not attended because of vacation) and . attending the March meeting, it appears that the Committee has not as yet "sunk their teeth" into a subcommittee or task force type issue or research topic. One member has expressed his opinions on assessment policy issues, but has not engaged the rest of the . group in the study of this subject. I April Projects . Issue first quarter 1997 utility billings by April 20, 1997. . . Assist the external auditors in their examination of year-end 1996. Administer the "prepayment before certification" and database creation with Ramsey . . County by project for 1997 street improvement projects. . Assist the Public Works Superintendent in preparing bids for water meter replacement. I . Complete the review ofTIF District No.3 (Cottage Villas) with financial advisors, Ehlers .. and Associates, Inc. . --------
