Administrator Comments for the March 31, 1997 City Council Meeting <br /> Page Three <br /> March 28, 1997 <br /> I f. 1900 Edlrewater Abatement <br /> I Not much activity has taken place on this over the past month. Staff has <br /> completed several affidavits and the court date for this case is still scheduled for <br /> April 8, 1997. <br /> I g. Community Survey. Preliminary Summary Review <br /> Decision Resources provided the Executive Summary and presented the results of <br /> I the survey to the City Council at its March 10, 1997 meeting. Final cross- <br /> tabulations are expected to be completed within the next several weeks. <br /> I h. Ouad Ice Arena <br /> There were several public meetings held regarding the programming and plan <br /> review for the Quad. The City executed the final Master Agreement for the <br /> I project. The MASC has begun excavating and moving dirt on the project site. <br /> i. Police Protection <br /> I The City Managers continue to work with Ramsey County on the goals and <br /> objectives for the Crime Prevention Officer. We have also begun to debate the <br /> -- idea of a park patrol. In the area of budgeting, we have asked the County to <br /> prepare a five-year anticipated budget to assist with planning efforts. <br /> I j. Committee Restructurin~ <br /> The Administration Department spend a great deal of time working with various <br /> members of the City Council on the topic of committee restructuring. This <br /> I included a review of the committees, appointments, committee operations, and <br /> several other related topics. <br /> I k. Miscellaneous <br /> In the area of personnel, I completed several more performance reviews and <br /> attended the third of five classes towards my Public Human Resources certificate. <br /> I Our departruent attended the City Clerks Conference, and obtained several new <br /> ideas to assist with liquor licensing and data practices. <br /> I I am working on a computer needs analysis for our computer system, specifically <br /> looking at our network server needs. I've also been monitoring the various legal <br /> I cases on which our attorneys are working. <br /> The Administration Departruent has also been actively involved with Mr. <br /> I Ringwald on evaluating the options and activities necessary to develop the <br /> Gateway Business District. <br /> I- <br /> I <br />
