Parks and Recreation <br /> I I attended the annual Day-In- The-Park event. 1 also attended a series of meetings <br /> with local officials on the amendments to the Quad Ice Arena Master Agreement. <br /> I Staff has discussed with Ramsey County the various options for soliciting public <br /> input into the Tony Schmidt Park renovations. The County has begun gearing up <br /> I for this process, <br /> g, Personnel <br /> I I've met with Mr. Stafford, and Karen Olson in preparation for the 1998 Union <br /> Contract negotiations and have also been working on several other personnel- <br /> related items. <br /> I b, Public Works <br /> The 1997 Street Improvement Project has been moving along fairly quickly. It's <br /> I anticipated that the asphalt will be placed on all streets in the next few days, <br /> Staff has continued to meet with several residents along Colleen Avenue who <br /> have expressed concerns about the project. I believe that Mr, Stafford has done a <br /> Ie fine job of addressing their concerns. <br /> After discussing the consulting engineering services area, the City Council had <br /> I previously requested consideration ofa Request for Proposals (RFP) for these <br /> services. The merger between MSA and Howard R. Green provides an <br /> opportunity for the City to carefully consider its service provider. Staff has <br /> I prepared an RFP and will provide it to the City Council for review on July 14, <br /> 1997. <br /> I i. TCAAP <br /> I had submitted a formal request to the Army for the consideration of the <br /> I abandonment of wells along Old Highway #10. The Army responded that, while <br /> this area is within the boundaries to qualify for abandonment, the homes along <br /> Old Highway # 1 0 do not have contamination within their existing wells. As a <br /> I result, the Army did not respond positively to my request. <br /> j. Council Priorities <br /> I The City Council has asked for staff to keep them apprised of the workload issues <br /> related to the priorities established at the 1997 Retreat.
