Fire Services Task Force I <br /> The Fire Services Task Force continues to meet to discuss the new fire <br /> contract. They have developed a list of issues which I will be using during I <br /> meetings with Shoreview and North Oaks, The Task Force believes these <br /> issues are important to improve the accountability of Lake Johanna <br /> Volunteer Fire Department to its contract cities, I <br /> 2. Newsletter Committee <br /> The Newsletter Committee will be meeting next week to begin work on I <br /> the September edition of the Arden Hills Notes, Council and staff liaisons <br /> will be updating the committee in regards to recent City Council <br /> conversations on the upgrading of the quality of the newsletter. I <br /> d. Community Development <br /> 1. Gateway Business District fGBD) I <br /> Staff continues to work with Welsh Development on the GBD project. <br /> The City Council will be holding the public hearing on the improvement aI <br /> to Fourteenth Street NE on July 28, 1997, and it is anticipated that the <br /> remainder of the development agreements and final plat will be reviewed <br /> at the August II, 1997 meeting, Staff has also met with Vaughan I <br /> properties to discuss issues related to this property, <br /> 2. TCAAP Planninl! I <br /> I've continued to hold discussions with Alliant Techsystem representatives <br /> on the status of their operations on arsenal property, As always, I <br /> attendance at RAB meetings is a monthly activity, <br /> 3, Miseellaneous I <br /> While I anticipate that Mr. Ringwald will provide more detail on the <br /> various activities in the Community Development Department, I'd like to <br /> briefly comment on two items, I <br /> The first is the high number of planning cases which have been handled <br /> during the past few months, When you consider the complexity of these I <br /> cases and other department responsibilities, I've been extremely pleased <br /> with our ability to respond to our citizens and developers, <br /> I <br /> .. <br /> I <br />
