North Suburban Cablc Commission Franchise Agreement Renewal I <br /> Staff has begun the review of the Franchise Agrecment with the North <br /> Suburban Cablc Commission. Staff anticipates that a formal resolution - <br /> will be presented to thc City Council in the near future. <br /> 3. City Hall I <br /> Staff and Mayor Probst met again with General LeBlanc to discuss the <br /> status of the land transfer with the Minnesota National Guard. Design <br /> work has begun on the new facility. - <br /> 4. Columbus Dav Clean Up <br /> On Columbus D:\y, October 13, st:\ff rc-mmnged sevcml offices and I <br /> hauled out four trash barrels full of paper for recycling. The files are <br /> slowly taking shape. Thc City may want to consider an additional day I <br /> prior to moving into new facilities to further arrange files. <br /> 5. Codification I <br /> Staff provided a formal letter to the League of Minnesota Cities (LMC) <br /> regarding the codification project. LMC was to have provided revisions <br /> several weeks ago, but to-date, nothing has becn received. This is still .. <br /> programmed for completion in 1997. <br /> 6. Northwest Youth & Family Services, Joint Powers Agreement I <br /> Staff researched and prcpared for the presentation of the Joint Powers <br /> Agreement \vith Northwest Youth and Family Services. <br />b. Committee Updates I <br /> 1. Firc Services Task Force , <br /> With the recent decision to proceed to negotiations on a Joint Powers <br /> Agreement (JPA), the City Council should decide the status of the Task I <br /> Forcc. If its work is complete, 1 will send letters of thanks to the <br /> committee. It may be appropriate for the Task Force to review the JP A <br /> prior to providing it to the City Council. I <br /> Staff met with representatives of the Lake Johanna Volunteer Fire <br /> Department, the Cities of North Oaks and Shoreview, and Attorney Filla I <br /> to discuss the JP A. The goal is to try to have some closure on this issue by <br /> next spring. Attorney Filla will begin drafting a JP A and separate service <br /> agreements. Once an initial draft is completed, these individuals will meet ~ <br /> agam. <br /> I <br />------------ <br />
