Newsletter Committee <br /> The Newsletter Committee will be meeting next week to begin work on <br />I the November edition of the Arden Hills Notes. This witl be Sharon <br /> Hanzalik's first meeting/edition as editor (publisher). <br />I e. Community Development <br />I 1. Gatewav Business District (GBD) <br /> This activity has once again been the focus of most of staffs attention <br /> during the past month. Numerous meetings with attorneys, Welsh, <br />I Naegele, engineers and the railroad have taken place. The City approved <br /> the Purchasc Agrcement with Nacgele and a numbcr of changes to the <br /> Development Agreement. The next item of discussion is the issuance of <br />I bonds to finance the public improvements. <br /> d. Personnel <br />I 1. Management Traininlj: <br /> The Department Heads have begun a program which includes a series of <br />.- management training skills. These half day sessions will be held over the <br /> next six months, and if completed, will provide certification to the <br />I participants. <br /> 2. Union Negotiations <br />I Staff has had several meetings with representatives of1.0.U.E. Local No. <br /> 49. It appears we are nearing a recommendation for settlement. Related <br /> to this, the City witl for the first time, be required to report the specifics of <br />I the settlement to the State of Minnesota. <br /> 3. Personnel Policv <br />I The City has received the second draft of the personnel policy. I had <br /> hoped to have this reviewed at the October 20 Council Worksession, but <br /> will now aim for the November 17 Worksession. <br />I e. Public Works/Safety <br />I 1. Meeting with Mounds View High School Staff and Students <br /> Staff participated in several meetings with Mounds View High School <br />~ staff and students, and provided the information necessary for the school <br /> to arrange the October 8, 1997 neighborhood meeting. <br />I <br />
