Mr. Ringwald stated there is currently approximately seven feet between the structure and <br /> the property line. <br /> Chairman Erickson noted that the applicant was not present at the meeting. <br /> Nelson moved, seconded by Larson, to recommend denial of Planning Case #97-24, Side <br /> Yard Variance for the house addition (seven feet) and denial ofa Side Yard Setback <br /> Variance for the attached deck (nine feet six inches) based on the four rationale identified <br /> - as "Findings". The motion carried unanimously (6-0). <br /> - COUNCIL REPORT <br /> ~.e Councilmember Dale Hicks reported that the Council had approved the five foot Side Yard <br /> Setback for the property located on New Brighton Road, the Planned Unit Development <br /> I Amendment for the Benton Way area to allow construction ofa sun room, and the 27.5 foot <br /> Variance for a garage addition on Edgewater A venue. The Council tabled the application of <br /> North Heights Lutheran Church for up to sixty days to obtain a specific site plan to determine <br /> I their intent in regard to the precast concrete and brick. The Side Yard Setback request of five <br /> feet in the Moundsview High School area was withdrawn by the applicant <br /> I Councilmember Hicks reported the Council approved the sale of$3,050,000 general obligation <br /> tax increment bonds for the Gateway District to fund the public improvements on 14th Street and <br /> signalization of Round Lake Road and land acquisition costs in the area of Highway 96 and <br /> I Round Lake Road. <br /> COMMISSION COMMENTS <br /> I Commissioner Sand noted that the fence which was constructed at Arden Plaza is starting to look <br /> I dilapidated. Mr. Ringwald stated he would research this issue. <br /> Commissioner Sand noted an article which explained how the cities of Eden Prairie and <br /> I Bloomington are dealing with their sign ordinance and the advertisement signs on the benches at <br /> bus stops. He asked if the City of Arden Hills had a means of dealing with this signage. <br /> .- <br /> I <br />
