He believed this development would add to the traffic problems <br /> they already had, He noted the average person going down Hamline was going 50-60 <br /> mph. He indicated on average, he had an accident in the front of his home onee a day. <br /> He believed Boston Scientifie would also add to the traffic. <br /> Mike Giel, 4534 Keithson Drive, stated there was no workable way the roads could <br /> handle the type of traffIe this development would create_ He stated the intersection was <br /> not made to handle this large of a development. He noted if people were coming from <br /> the east, they would need to do a U-tum to get into the development while crossing two <br /> lanes of traffic. He noted people on Keithson Drive could not see the traffie because it <br /> was below the hill. He stated this would be a problem for anyone driving down Highway <br /> 96 and Hamline Avenue also. He noted in the wintertime he believed there would be a <br /> lot of problems. 1 Ie expressed concern about the cut out on Highway 96 off of Keithson <br /> was not sufficient either. He did not believe either one of the roads could to1eratc this <br /> type of a dcvelopment. He noted this was a safety issue. <br /> Chair Sand recessed the meeling at 8:36 p,m. and reconvened the meeting at 8:43 p.m. <br /> Larry Stark, 1460 Arden View Drive, presented and explained photographs he had taken <br /> regarding the tral1ic issues. He stated it was frustrating to come here and bc given three <br /> minutes, and not know what the current plan was. lIe believed thcre should have been . <br /> more than one community meeting regarding this project. Hc stated given the TCAAP <br /> development and the modifications to the Hamlinc Avenue intersection and the <br /> expansion of Boston Scientific and Medtronic facilitics, he asked why they have not <br /> considered doing an AUAR, He stated they should not look at this small square of <br /> propcrty and believe everything would work fine, but look at the community as a whole_ <br /> Brigid Shields, 4365 Arden View Court, stated cars exiting right on Hamline Avenue in <br /> the evening will have to drive south to County Road F over to Lexington Avenue, north <br /> on Lexington Avenue and back on Highway 96 to get back to where they were already. <br /> He indicated this was a waste of time and money and it did not make sense. He believed <br /> there would be a dangcr point with the daycare center also. He stated his only <br /> opportunity to get on Hamline A venue was whcn traffic was stopped on Highway 96, but <br /> if traffic was not stopped at Highway 96, they would be trapped in their own homes, <br /> Tawana Holtz, ] 371 Arden View Drive, stated she has been a resident for over two years. <br /> Shc noted she was an cmployee of Boston Scientific and in the past couple of years, she <br /> has been late to work due to the traffic and she only had to go six blocks. She asked if <br /> the development could be moved to the north side of Highway 96, which she believed <br /> could handle the traffic better.
