7 <br />Arden Hills Community Garden Inprovments XXX FTE labor hours required; X FTEs required High <br />Priority. <br />x Grade a swale from the southeast corner of the garden plots toward the creek to promote <br />drainage. <br />x Add sand/ organics to the garden plot soil. Preferably this would be completed when the plots <br />are tilled and string lines are laid out in the spring. <br />x Remove diseased trees leaning toward the garden (winter work). <br />x Make covers for the water barrels. Fill the barrels twice a week during the rental season if <br />possible. <br />Irrigation System 320 FTE labor hours required; 2 FTEs required High Priority. <br />Maintenance for irrigation systems begins in the spring and the systems are winterized in the fall. During <br />spring startup, PW FTE’s test each system to ensure proper operation and make any repairs as needed. <br />Throughout the summer months, the irrigation systems need to be periodically checked for efficient <br />watering and adjusted/ repaired as needed. Listed below are the parks and City-owned properties <br />maintained by PW: <br />x City Hall <br />x Highway 96 median gardens (between Highway 10 and Lexington Ave) <br />x Cummings Park <br />x Perry Park <br />x Hazelnut Park <br />x Triangle monument sign property <br />x Lakeshore Place <br />Spot Planting Replacement - Lakeshore Place Landscaping.40 FTE labor hours required; 2 FTEs <br />required Medium Priority. <br />Replacement of shrubs due to winter die-off will be assessed in the spring of 2026. <br />Highway 96 Median and City Hall Perennial Gardens 200 FTE labor hours required; 2 FTEs required <br />Medium priority. <br />Scheduled for spot plant replacement or infill from dead plants. Ongoing weekly weeding is completed <br />throughout the summer months. <br />Softball Infield Grading and Maintenance 180 FTE labor hours required; 1 FTEs required high priority. <br />This work will be completed in the spring, summer, and fall timeframe by FTE’s and SPT staff. Field <br />lighting, fencing, dugouts, bases, base boxes, trash/recycling receptacles and field signage will be <br />inspected and repaired as needed.
