<br /> --- <br /> Administrator Comments for the March 30, 1998 Council Meeting <br /> Page Four <br /> March 27, 1998 . <br /> e. Sanitary Sewer Repairs <br /> The City Council is asked to approve Work Order #98-04, for engineering costs <br /> relating to necessary repairs to the sanitary sewer system. This will move the <br /> project along in determining those areas to be repaired in 1998, preparation of <br /> specifications, and bidding of the project. <br /> 5. Devartment Report <br /> The City Council will find a report enclosed for each of the various City Departments. <br /> Activities related to the Administration and Finance Departments include: <br /> a. General Administration <br /> 1. 1998 City CouncillDepartment Head Retreat <br /> Staff prepared and organized the two day City Council Retreat which <br /> focused on the adoption ofa governmental philosophy. Staffwas satisfied <br /> with the facilities, and will most likely recommend that the 1999 Retreat <br /> also be held at the Radisson Plymouth. The Facilitator is expected to <br /> provide a summary of the Retreat discussion within the next few weeks. <br /> Once this information is available, we should discuss methods of utilizing <br /> the philosophy. . <br /> 2. City Hall <br /> The architect provided revised building plans, and the first review of a <br /> budget for the new facility. Staff investigated and provided information <br /> related to interim lease space opportunities. The City Council confirmed <br /> its support for the Sunfish Lake site and found the design plans to be fairly <br /> complete. <br /> 3. Midwest Asphalt Litigation <br /> Staff attended court for the Midwest Asphalt litigation, and is expected to <br /> attend again in April. Once this is resolved, the City can then move <br /> forward to close out the 1997 financials and budget. <br /> 4. Tobacco Ordinance <br /> Attorney Filla has now completed the review of the draft tobacco <br /> ordinance and provided a number of revisions. Staff is now reviewing it, <br /> and will begin preparations for a presentation in April. <br /> b. Committee Updates <br /> Staff assisted with the various activities related to the Finance, Newsletter and <br /> Youth Committees. In addition, the annual State Human Rights meeting was <br /> arranged and hosted by the City. . <br />
