<br /> --------- <br /> Memorandum, Statl Reorganization . <br /> Page Two <br /> April 24, 1998 <br /> Associate Planner <br /> The Associate Planner will be responsible for the development and implementation of land use <br /> plans, regulations and policies, including the positive and effective enforcement of City plans, <br /> policies and ordinances as assigned by the Community Development Director. <br /> The creation of this position is a direct result of the discussion on the creation of a position to <br /> handle special projects and economic development. The City has a need for ongoing planning <br /> administration and code enforcement which can be handled by this position. <br /> The position would be created as a permanent full-time position for the City and will be filled <br /> through a typical solicitation and public hiring process. <br /> Until such time that the pay plan is re-evaluated, a specific salary range and points cannot be <br /> - determined. However, based on the existing plan, a range of $30 - $40,000 would be realistic. <br /> Studv of Pay Plan <br /> With these additional positions and other revisions to position descriptions, the City needs to <br /> conduct further evaluation of its pay plan, including points and pay. The completion of this study <br /> will further define the pay ranges of the new positions and relationships to other positions within . <br /> the City. <br /> Recommendation <br /> Staff would recommend approval of the creation of, and advertisement for hire, of the Assistant <br /> to the City Administrator and Associate Planner positions.
