Pursuant to Minnesota State Statute tbe City must act <br /> on tbis request by Monday, April 27, 1998 (60 days). unless the City provides the petitioner <br /> with written reasons for an additional 60 day review period. The additional review period <br /> would extend to Friday, June 26. 1998. The applicant is requesting approval of a lot split and variances for parking lot <br /> setback (zero feet provided, when five feet is required) and signage (to retain an existing sign <br /> which would now be on a separate parccl- oft-premise sign) on a 2.76 acre parcel zoned B-3 <br /> Service Business District (Exhibit C). <br /> Background. The Emerald Inn was approved as part of Planning Case 80-34. The Plauning <br /> Commission recommended approval of this case on August 15, 1980. The City Council <br /> approved this case on September 29, 1980. The CU!Tent owner of the Emerald Inn (George <br /> Reiling) wishes to sell the Emerald Inn to Forstrom and Torgerson Pannership, LLP. The <br /> cun'ent owner also wishes to retain the nOliherly undeveloped portion of this property.
