MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: May 18, 1998 <br /> TO: Mayor and City Council <br /> FROM: Brian Fritsinger, City Administrat@ <br /> SUBJECT: Janet Owens, Employment Status <br /> Back~round <br /> Ms. Owens was initially hired on September 2, 1997 as Receptionist for the City of Arden Hills. <br /> Chapter 19, Arden Hills Code, rcquired that employees complete a six (6) month probationary <br /> period in order to determine whether or not the employee demonstrates fitness for the position. <br /> Upon completion of her initial six (6) months with the City, and as the Council was advised at <br /> that time, Ms. Owens' probation was extended from March 2, 1998 to June 2, 1998 to further <br /> evaluate her performance. <br /> Under Section 19-6 (c) of Municipal Code, the City Council shall consider the recommendation <br /> . of the City Administrator or Department I-lead as to whether the employee should or should not <br /> be made a regular employee. <br /> Recommendation <br /> Stat1'would recommend the City Council approve the appointment of Ms. Owens as a regular, <br /> full-time employee with the City of Arden Hills. <br /> 1~, <br /> i <br /> SF/sls <br /> . <br /> , <br />
