The applicant has provided the party wall agreement for review and approval by <br /> the City Attorney (Exhibit D). The City Attorney has reviewed the party wall agreement and <br /> approves of its substance and form. <br /> 3. Case #98-14, Lot Split, Ann Sturgeon, 3769 New Brighton Rnad <br /> The applicant has withdrawn their request (Exhibit E). <br /> 4. Case #97-15, Special Use Permit (signage), Sign-A-Rama (McGuire's), <br /> 1201 West County Road E <br /> Request. The applicant is requesting approval of a Special Use Permit (signage) <br /> modification (Planning Case 95-6) for the Holiday Inn/McGuire's, 120 I West County Road <br /> E, to allow for the a placement four (4) neon stripes adjacent to the existing McGuire's sign <br /> (wall) facing County Road E (Exhibit F). <br /> Background. In March of 1995, the Planning Commission recommended approval of <br /> . exterior facelift and various site improvements at the Holiday Inn. Also, in March of 1995, <br /> the City Council approved those improvements to the Holiday Inn, subject to approval of the <br /> landscape plan. In September of 1995, the Planning Commission recommended approval <br /> of the landscape plan for the Holiday Inn. Also, in September of 1995, the City Council <br /> approved the landscape plan. <br /> The applicant is proposing to add four (4) neon stripes 20 feet in length and 5I8th's of an <br /> inch wide adjacent to the existing McGuire's sign (wall) facing County Road E. The <br /> Holiday Inn currently has 207 square feet of wall signage (Item No.'s 1 and 2 of the signage <br /> summary). The Holiday Inn currently has 42 square feet of directional signage (Item No, 's <br /> 3 and 4 of the signage summary). The Holiday Inn currently has 64 square feet of <br /> freestanding signage (Item No.6 of the signage summary). McGuire's currently has 12 <br /> square feet of wall signage (Item No.5 of the signage summary). The applieant is proposing <br /> to add 4.16 square feet of signage ((.625"1l2" per foot) x 4 lines x 20 feet in length)). The <br /> approximately 16 square feet of signage is minimal in its relative size to the building or the <br /> rest of the signage. <br /> Deadline for Agency Actions. The City of Arden Hills received the complete application <br /> for this request on April 13, 1998. Pursuant to Minnesota State Statute the City must aet on <br /> this request by Friday, June 12, 1998 (60 days), unless the City provides the petitioner with <br /> written reasons for an additional 60 day review period, The additional review period would <br /> extend to Tuesday, August 11, 1998. The City may with the petitioners consent extend the <br /> . review period beyond the Tuesday, August 11, 1998 date. <br />
