Temporary City Hall <br /> Staff purchased a new receptionist desk for City Hall. We were <br /> able to replace the 1960's orange desk with a very nice Oak <br /> receptionist desk for $100, and some muscle-wrenching labor by <br /> staff. <br /> The various equipment necessary for videotaping Council <br /> meetings, playing back tapes, and programming Channel 16 is <br /> slowly arriving, We are still waiting for the Cable Commission to <br /> send over a technician to hook up the system, The Cable <br /> Commission is also still working on the cable drop into the <br /> building so access is available to our Internet provider and <br /> programming channel. <br /> Staff is also still working on obtaining additional furniture for our <br /> Department Secretary and others. Additional work to the Council <br /> . bench area will also be completed in the near future, <br /> b. New City Hall <br /> Staff has been preparing for staff/architect presentation of site plan <br /> designs to Planning Commission on August 5, 1998. The City <br /> Council reviewed this information at its June 29, 1998 meeting and <br /> did not identify any significant concerns or changes to the plans, <br /> Staff is currently working with the engineers and RCWD to resolve <br /> an appropriate interim site drainage plan, <br /> 3. Ramsev County Library <br /> The Mayor and I met with a representative of the Ramsey County Library <br /> . system to discuss the future of the existing libraries in the northern <br /> suburbs, It is expected that future conversations will be held with the <br /> Library Board as they evaluate their options in this area. <br /> 4. Council/Commission Appointments <br /> Staff assisted with the necessary requirements for the appointment of Mr. <br /> Larson to the City Council. In addition to meeting with Mr. Larson to <br /> review a variety of City issues affecting Council actions, staff also has <br /> been working on the search for an appointee to the Planning Commission, <br /> . <br />
