<br />. <br /> In May, the City issued 34 residential remodeling pemlits which ranged in value from <br />. $1,440.00 to $75,000.00 and had a total value of S319,527.00 and had an average value <br /> of$9,397.85. Lastly, the City issued one permit for a new residence ($248,833) at 4234 <br /> Hamline A venue. <br /> 2. Sign Permits. In September, the City has issued no sign permits. <br /> Economic Development <br /> 1. Gateway Business District. The real estate portions of Phases II and III of the GBD <br /> project are closing (Welsh Development to AmberJack) this week. Welsh Constmction is <br /> making progress on completing the outstanding items which need to be completed by <br /> September 30, 1998. The first lift of paving was put down for Gateway Court which <br /> services the tmck needs of Phases I and 11. <br /> The City Engineer has completed their review of available capacity at the Highway 96 <br /> and Round Lake Road (relocated) intersection. Generally, the report states that the <br /> modified intersection will allow for an additional 740,000 square feet to 1,100,000 square <br /> feet of Office or 1,100,000 square feet to 1,600,000 square feet of Office/Showroom. The <br /> Staff and Morris Communications are awaiting the results of the financial <br /> analysis/requirements for future phases from the City's financial consultant (Ehlers & <br /> Associates), before talking further about potential users for the Comer Site. <br /> The City Attorney and the City's Acquisition Specialist (Bud Storm-Evergreen Land <br />. Services) discussed at great length this week with the Indykiewicz's and their attorney <br /> where the acquisition is currently at. The Indykiewicz's appraisal is still not yet <br /> available, so discussion on price at this time cannot commence. The Indykiewicz's did <br /> have somc questions regarding the property to be taken, the timing for their departure <br /> from the property and the timing of their companies departure from the propcrty. The <br /> Staff and consultants will bc working to get thc Indykiewicz's the answers to thesc <br /> questions this wcek or early next weck. After those questions are answered, the only <br /> remaining questions relate to price, which is waiting on the completion of the <br /> lndykiewicz appraisal. <br /> 2. TCAAP. The Staft'will start to work on the RFP's for the Phase II planning exercise in <br /> Octobcr. Additionally, the Staff will be following up with the AmlY on anticipated <br /> release schedules for various pOl1ions of thc site. No ncw news on the Fox 29 tower has <br /> surfaced. <br /> 3. North Metro I-35W Corridor Coalition. The City is now directly linked (electronically <br /> via the Cable system) to the Coalitions computer se[\.er (currently residing in the City of <br /> Roscvillc) which will make the transfer of the information betwcen the Cities even more <br /> convenient. <br /> Thc Coalition continues to make great progress in the area of GIS. The Coalition is <br /> putting the final touches on its internet mapping program which will allow users outside <br />. the Coalition to browse a varicty of Coalition and/or City mapping products. If thc City <br /> Council desired, the Staff could attempt to schedule some time at a future worksession to <br /> demonstrate some of the technology that will soon be available to the Coalition, Cities, <br /> and the Public. <br /> - <br />
