Old City Hall <br /> Staff is nearing completion on demolition specifications for old <br /> City Hall. Staff will be seeking bids shortly and is still intending <br /> to complete demolition this fall. With the other various code <br /> enforcement cases being resolved, staff does not expect to bid <br /> these as a package. <br /> b. Temporary City Hall <br /> Staff completed installation of the Department Secretary work <br /> area, which we received from the Teachers Retirement <br /> Association. The City still does not have cable playback of <br /> Council meetings or programming capabilities. We are continuing <br /> to work with North Suburban Cable Commission to have training <br /> completed, and the audio equipment hooked up in the Council <br /> Chambers, <br /> . c. New City H~lI <br /> The City Council reviewed the plans for the new City Hall and <br /> reviewed the budget estimate for the project. The Council <br /> authorized proceeding with the preparation of construction plans. <br /> In addition, the City Council subcommittee met to conduct further <br /> discussions on the construction budget, and suggested several <br /> minor modifications. <br /> Staff has also begun meeting with the Minnesota National Guard <br /> on the lease agreement for the site, <br /> Requests for Proposals (RFP's) were also prepared and received <br /> for the audio and video systems at the new facility. <br /> 3. Community Development <br /> The Administration Department has been very active in the various code <br /> enforcement cases this past month. This included negotiating an <br /> agreement with the currcnt and future property owners at 3171 and 3183 <br /> Lexington Avenue; numcrous conversations regarding 1369 Forest Lane; <br /> and meeting with U.S. West on the Vaughan tower case, <br /> a. TCAAP <br /> . Staff held several meetings with Department of Army officials <br /> regarding the long-term reuse of arsenal property and buildings. <br />
