CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: October 6, 1998 <br /> TO: Brian Fritsinger, City Administrator <br /> FROM: Tracy Petersen, Program Supervisor fi) <br /> SUBJECT: Proposed Revisions to Recreation Guide Design <br /> Back~rollnd <br /> In the Fall of 1996, High Point Creative made changes to the cover of the recreation guide. <br /> These changes incorporated the city logo and maintained use ofthe city's primary colors. This <br /> change also was made because the city had discontinued the city newsletter and the recreation <br /> guide needed its own identity. <br /> Beyond the cover change of 1996, the recreation guide's format and organizational structure has <br /> remained static over the past five years except for minor changes as needed. <br /> Proposal <br />. High Point Creative staff has proposed a fresh approach to the recreation guide. The new design <br /> incorporates updated graphics, minor re-organization of class listings, and a new paper stock. <br /> The proposal recommends a creme paper stock that is consistent with the Arden Hills image and <br /> is more responsive to the new graphic and design changes. <br /> Overall, the enclosed proposed layout changes maintain the city's logo, color and image. The <br /> layout also incorporates the most up-to-date information in recreation marketing research. <br /> Recommendation <br /> City recreation staffrecommends implementation of the proposed recreation guide design <br /> changes as well as a change to the Fox River Crushed Leaf 70# Text creme stock paper <br /> beginning with the Winter 1998/99 issue. Staff would need approval of changes by <br /> Thursday, October 15. <br />. <br />
