Community Development <br /> Staff attended the grand opening ofHOM furniture. HOM has moved into <br /> the old Carroll's Furniture location. Staff has also met with the Business <br /> Relations Committee (BRC) and the Suburban Chamber of Commerce to <br /> discuss cooperative ways to improve public relations with local <br /> businesses. <br /> The Administrator was also very active in working with Welsh <br /> Development on the various legal agreements required as part of the sale <br /> of property in the Gateway Business District (GBD) to AmberJack. <br /> a. TCAAP <br /> Staff met with NSP officials to discuss the construction of <br /> overhead lines on TCAAP. NSP has verbally indicated that its <br /> decision to replace underground with overhead was not <br /> appropriate, and it would seek to repair the existing underground <br /> line. <br /> b. Property Acquisitions . <br /> Staff has continued to work with attorneys on the acquisition of <br /> property for the extension/relocation of Round Lake Road. <br /> c. Cillk Enforcement <br /> Staff was active in the development and execution of an agreement <br /> --- -.- with the owners of317l and 3183 Lexington Avenue. Staff was <br /> also involved in the 1369 Forest Lane abatement. <br /> 4. .Gillnmunity Representations <br /> As City Administrator, I've attendcd a variety of meetings representing the <br /> City this past month. <br /> 5. Finance Department <br /> Staffattcnded the Septembcr meeting of the Sheriffs Department contract <br /> cities. Among issues discussed were improving the animal control <br /> contract, considering CSO staffing for this service and a general concern <br /> that some sworn deputies appear to give the image that they are County <br /> employees on temporary assignment rather than employees of the contract <br /> cities. <br /> . <br />
