. Administrator Comments for the October 26, 1998 Council Meeting
Page Five
October 23, 1998
Third quarter utility billings were issued on October 16, 1998. The dry
summer led to dramatically higher water consumption, which resulted in
higher bills that have kept the phone lines busy.
Rather than acquire a performance bond for public improvements in the
Oak Ridge Subdivision on Thorn Court, the developer issued the City a
check for $112,500 as escrow funds to insure completion of the
improvements.
6. Personnel
We have been analyzing all options available to the City as a result of Ms.
Walsh's resignation. Staff will continue to work on developing a list of
options for Council consideration at the November, 1998 Worksession.
7. Park Development
I will be attending the October 27, 1998 Parks and Recreation
Commission meeting to provide an update on the various park
. development activities I am working on.
a. Arden Manor Park
Staff met with Mr. Husnik to begin discussions on the potential
redevelopment of thc park. We discussed the status of the drainage
improvements. I will be meeting with the City engineer to discuss
these issues further before getting back to Mr. Husnik.
b. Bethel Colleee
Staff has had several phone convcrsations with Bethel
representatives and residents of the Chatham neighborhood.
Bethel continues to work on a concept plan, and will contact the
City as soon as it is available.
c. yauehan Trail
Staff has met with Mr. Vaughan to discuss a possible land swap or
acquisition in order to expand the Gateway pedestrian trail.
Additional meetings will be held as we work on this project.
.
