Hi~hway 96 <br /> The Mayor and staff met with Joseph Strauss and other individuals <br /> about the financing of Highway 96. The City is working to assure <br /> that Ramsey County can obtain federal funds for the project, and is <br /> analyzing the best approach to assure that the project gets placed in <br /> MnDOT's TIP. This program will have to be amended in order for <br /> the project to qualify for federal funds. Another meeting will be <br /> held next week. <br /> . T exinzton Avenue Restripine <br /> Staff held conversations with Ramsey County regarding the <br /> restriping of Lexington Avenue, just south of Highway 96. <br /> . \Vest Round Lake Road Improvements <br /> Staff continues to analyze options for the rcconstruction of West . <br /> Round Lake Road and the West Round Lake Road intersection as <br /> part of the 1999 Street Improvement Project. Staff has notified the <br /> property owners about an informational meeting to be held next <br /> week. The meeting will be used to solicit comments on any design <br /> concerns held by these companies. <br /> d. Committce 1) pclati:s <br /> As the City moves closer to 1999 and conversations on the status of its goals and <br /> committees, staff prepared a utility bill stuffer soliciting interest in serving on a <br /> committee/commission or task force. The City continues to receive responses for <br /> all of the current committees and commissions except the Newsletter Committee. <br /> Newsletter Committee <br /> The October, 1998 newsletter was processed and mailed to our residents. Staff <br /> participated in a very productive meeting with the committee and Council <br /> Liaisons regarding the future of the newsletter and arcas of concern expressed by <br /> participants. The City Council also reviewed and discussed issues related to the <br /> ncwslctter at its October Worksession meeting. <br /> BF/sls <br /> . <br />
