<br /> .. - <br />Protective Insoections <br />1. Building Permits (November). The City issued five commerciaVindustrial permits in <br /> November. The first (#6279) was for an interior office remodel ($13,700) at 4105 . <br /> Lexington Avenue. The second (#6280) was for an interior office remodel ($29,000) at <br /> 4105 Lexington Avenue. The third (#6281) was for an interior office remodel ($13,300) <br /> at 4105 Lexington A venue. The fourth (#6303) was for an interior office remodel <br /> (S12,000) at 4105 Lexington Avenue. Lastly, the fifth (#6310) was for an interior office <br /> remodel at CPI ($300,000) at 4100 Hamline A venue. The total valuation added by these <br /> building permits was $368,000.00 with an average valuation of $73,600.00. <br /> In November, the City issued 28 residential remodeling permits, which ranged in value <br /> from $1,584.00 to $30,000.00, had a total value of$212,382.00 and had an average value <br /> of$7,585.07. <br />2. Sign Permits. In November the City issued two sign permits, 98-21 (wall sign) to Kim's <br /> Tailor at 3539 Lexington A venue and 98-22 (temporary) to Firstar Bank at 4061 <br /> Lexington Avenue. <br />Economic Develooment <br />1. Gateway Business District. The City Attorney, City's Acquisition Specialist (Bud <br /> Storm-Evergreen Land Services), and Staff met with the Indykiewicz's on Friday, <br /> November 6,1998 to discuss the acquisition of that property. The property owner <br /> indicated that they wanted the City to buy all of their property, equipment, and product <br /> (ie., dirt), so that could go out of business. The City indicated that it would like to get a <br /> handle on what they thought the value of these items would be so that it could evaluate its . <br /> options. The City agreed to discuss several items with Ramsey County and get back to <br /> the Indykiewicz's. The Staff has scheduled a meeting with Ramsey County for Monday, <br /> November 23, 1998 to discuss these items. All parties agreed to continue to positively <br /> discuss the acquisition so as to come to an out of court settlement for the acquisition of <br /> this property. <br /> Staff also met with representatives ofMT Properties (owners of the railroad right-of-way) <br /> on Monday, November 2, 1998 to discuss the acquisition of that property. They agreed <br /> to forward this request on to their Board of Directors which meets in early December for <br /> discussion. <br /> Lastly, Staff met with representatives ofNott Company on Monday, November 16, 1998, <br /> to discuss their issues with the Round Lake Road project. The Nott Company would like <br /> to expand their building if possible (ie., buy some of the Indykiewicz property). If this <br /> acquisition is not possible, then to ensure that some screening is placed between them and <br /> the proposed county pond. The Staff will be discussing with the City Engineer the <br /> feasibility and impacts of modifying the road design to accommodate this request. Staff <br /> will report back with additional information, as it becomes available. <br />Code Enforcement <br />1. 1369 Forest Lane. The property owner, Mr. Steve Nixon, continues to work on the <br /> house so that a Certificate of Occupancy can be granted. The Building Official is doing a . <br /> disproportionate amount of hand holding on this case. <br />
