-~ - CITY OF ARDEN HILLS MEMORANDUM DATE: November 20, 1998 TO: Brian Fritsinger, City Administrator FROM: Dwayne Stafford, Public Works Director V~ SUBJECT: Monthly Department Head Report Public Safety Commission The City of Arden Hills Public Safety Commission held its November meeting on Thursday, November 19,1998, at City Hall. Among items discussed were the Public Works facility, 1999 goals, and selecting a new recording secretary for 1999. Commission members considered the new City Hall, Public Works facility, y2K, and street standards as candidates for study in 1999. . Mr. Craig Wilson volunteered to serve as the recording secretary and all members present showed interest in returning to the Public Safety Commission next year. 1998 Street Improvement Project With the major portion of the 1998 Street Improvement Project complete, the City Engineer, his Inspector, the Public Works Foreman and Director, walked all the project streets and compiled a punch list of items the contractor needs to address before the City will accept the project. City of New Brighton personnel were present on the Stowe Avenue inspection. 1998 Trail Project The paving portion of the trail improvements contracted for in 1998 is now finished, Only a small amount oflandscape touch-up needs to be completed before acceptance. 1999 Street Improvement Project The City Engineer is putting the final touches on the Round Lake Road Phase I plans in preparation of advertising for bids starting on November 20,1998. Bid opening for Phase I will be on December 17, 1998 and if all goes well the contract could be awarded January 4, 1999. BRW has completed soil borings and is in the process of survey work necessary for plans and specifications on Phase II of Round Lake Road. (Indykiewcz property south to Gateway Boulevard). .
