<br />-~ <br />- <br /> CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: November 20, 1998 <br /> TO: Brian Fritsinger, City Administrator <br /> FROM: Dwayne Stafford, Public Works Director V~ <br /> SUBJECT: Monthly Department Head Report <br /> Public Safety Commission <br /> The City of Arden Hills Public Safety Commission held its November meeting on Thursday, <br /> November 19,1998, at City Hall. Among items discussed were the Public Works facility, 1999 <br /> goals, and selecting a new recording secretary for 1999. <br /> Commission members considered the new City Hall, Public Works facility, y2K, and street <br /> standards as candidates for study in 1999. <br />. Mr. Craig Wilson volunteered to serve as the recording secretary and all members present <br /> showed interest in returning to the Public Safety Commission next year. <br /> 1998 Street Improvement Project <br /> With the major portion of the 1998 Street Improvement Project complete, the City Engineer, his <br /> Inspector, the Public Works Foreman and Director, walked all the project streets and compiled a <br /> punch list of items the contractor needs to address before the City will accept the project. <br /> City of New Brighton personnel were present on the Stowe Avenue inspection. <br /> 1998 Trail Project <br /> The paving portion of the trail improvements contracted for in 1998 is now finished, Only a <br /> small amount oflandscape touch-up needs to be completed before acceptance. <br /> 1999 Street Improvement Project <br /> The City Engineer is putting the final touches on the Round Lake Road Phase I plans in <br /> preparation of advertising for bids starting on November 20,1998. Bid opening for Phase I will <br /> be on December 17, 1998 and if all goes well the contract could be awarded January 4, 1999. <br /> BRW has completed soil borings and is in the process of survey work necessary for plans and <br /> specifications on Phase II of Round Lake Road. (Indykiewcz property south to Gateway <br /> Boulevard). <br />. <br />
