,. . Administrator Comments for the November 30, 1998 Council Meeting . Page Four November 25, 1998 . City Facilities Update . Old City Hall The Lake Johanna Volunteer Fire Department (LNFD) will conduct training at the Old City Hall on November 28th. The demolition contractor has been notified about the award of bid, but has not yet confirmed the date for demolition. . Temporary City Hall The City had to work with our landlord on some repairs to our heating system. The system was damaged during this summer's storm and didn't work. We also had an electrician complete some additional improvements in order to accommodate our new copy machine. The Cable Commission was also at City Hall several times working on the cable programming and videotaping process. . New City Hall The City has received a great deal of information related to the development of a lease for property. The attorneys have been discussing . methods to meet all Federal lease requirements. Once there is some word on the land transfer, I anticipate the attorneys will begin serious discussions. . Maintenance Facility Staff reviewed and prepared for a discussion at the Council Worksession regarding the Public Safety CommissionlFinance Committee recommendations on a maintenance facility. I attended a tour of the Hennepin County Public Works facility along with representatives of the National Guard and Ramsey County. Upon conclusion of the tour, some discussion was held regarding the appropriateness of proceeding with joint facility discussions. . Town Hall Meeting Staff has begun the preliminary planning/scheduling for the Town Hall meeting scheduled for January 23, 1999 at Bethel College. .."-'" . Committee Updates Staff sent out surveys of interest for serving on the various City committees. As a result, the City has received numerous responses with interest in serving. The Council will review these as part of its committee review process. .
