Old City Hall <br /> The Lake Johanna Volunteer Fire Department (LNFD) will conduct <br /> training at the Old City Hall on November 28th. The demolition <br /> contractor has been notified about the award of bid, but has not yet <br /> confirmed the date for demolition. <br /> . Temporary City Hall <br /> The City had to work with our landlord on some repairs to our heating <br /> system. The system was damaged during this summer's storm and didn't <br /> work. We also had an electrician complete some additional improvements <br /> in order to accommodate our new copy machine. The Cable Commission <br /> was also at City Hall several times working on the cable programming and <br /> videotaping process. <br /> . New City Hall <br /> The City has received a great deal of information related to the <br /> development of a lease for property. The attorneys have been discussing . <br /> methods to meet all Federal lease requirements. Once there is some word <br /> on the land transfer, I anticipate the attorneys will begin serious <br /> discussions. <br /> . Maintenance Facility <br /> Staff reviewed and prepared for a discussion at the Council Worksession <br /> regarding the Public Safety CommissionlFinance Committee <br /> recommendations on a maintenance facility. I attended a tour of the <br /> Hennepin County Public Works facility along with representatives of the <br /> National Guard and Ramsey County. Upon conclusion of the tour, some <br /> discussion was held regarding the appropriateness of proceeding with joint <br /> facility discussions. <br /> . Town Hall Meeting <br /> Staff has begun the preliminary planning/scheduling for the Town Hall meeting <br /> scheduled for January 23, 1999 at Bethel College. <br /> .."-'" <br /> . Committee Updates <br /> Staff sent out surveys of interest for serving on the various City committees. As a <br /> result, the City has received numerous responses with interest in serving. The <br /> Council will review these as part of its committee review process. <br /> . <br />
