I Administrator Comments for the January 4, 1999 Council Meeting Page Four December 30,1998 e . City Facilities Update . Old City Hall The City coordinated the demolition of the Old City Hall with the Lake Johanna Volunteer Fire Department (LJVFD). The Department used the building for training purposes the week before demolition. The site has now been regraded and cleaned up. The flagpole and two pine trees, which were dedicated for past mayors, were saved for use at the new City Hall should the City elect to use them. . Temporary Citv Hall Staff completed coordinating Council Chambers taping with the North Suburban Cable Commission (NSCC). This process took an extraordinary amount of time to complete, but is now available. . New Citv Hall Staff has continued to work on the interior layout, storage requirements, Council chamber layout, audio/visual needs and a preliminary review of furnishing needs. Staff has not advanced the lease agreement, but will begin work on this item in January. The City was notified by the Minnesota National Guard ofa March 15, 1999 date certain, land transfer ofTCAAP property. e . Town Hall Meeting Staff has sent notices to those agencies who participated in the 1998 Town Hall Meeting inviting them to participate again in 1999. Other preliminary efforts have begun. . Committee Updates The City continues to process committee interest forms and has forwarded them to the City Council. The Council made three (3) Newsletter Committee appointments in December as a result of these interest forms. The Council is expected to provide staff with additional direction on the committees and membership in the near future. . Newsletter Committee The Committee is currently working on a combined December/January issue, to be delivered in mid-January, 1999. e
