<br />, <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />NM I-35W CORRIDOR COALITION <br />1998 ANNUAL REPORT <br /> <br />The Coalition conducts its business under a <br />Joint Powers Agreement and related by-laws. <br />The Coalition has a Board of Directors <br />comprised 14 members. Each city has two <br />voting board members, currently the Mayors <br />and City Managers and/or Administrators <br />serve as directors. <br /> <br />Coalition officers in 1998 included <br />. Robert Benke, President, Mayor of New <br />Brighton, <br />. Dennis Probst, Vice President, Mayor of <br />Arden Hills, <br />. Matt Fulton, Secretary and Treasurer, <br />City Manager, New Brighton, <br />. Kevin Locke, Chair of the Community <br />Development Committee, Community <br />Development Director, City of New <br />Brighton, <br />. Joseph D. Strauss, Vice President and <br />Administrator, Strauss Management <br />Company. <br /> <br />The Board met monthly in 1998 and the <br />Community Development Committee <br />comprised of each city's Commnnity <br />Development or EDA director typically met <br />twice per month. <br /> <br />I Coalition 1998 Major Accomplishments I <br /> <br />Major accomplishments in 1998 include: <br />. Completion of Phase I, Track 1 I-35W <br />Corridor Coalition Comprehensive <br />Livable Community Urban Design and <br />Transportation Study - May 1998 <br />. Hired BRW to conduct the Coalitions' <br />Stage 1 Transportation and Transit Study <br />. Hired GES to develop a governmental <br />relation strategy to properly position <br />member transportation and transit <br />projects in various state and regional <br /> <br />funding cycles and decision-making <br />processes <br />. Hired Nancy Reeves & Associates to <br />conduct the Coalitions' Stage 1 Housing <br />Inventory Study <br />. Hired The Lawrence Group to conduct <br />the Coalitions' socioeconomic- <br />demographic study <br />. Completed the Coalitions' Phase 2 GIS <br />work plan <br />. Create a "on-line data warehouse" that <br />can be used to display information at all <br />scales, ranging from the individual parcel <br />to subregional networks <br />. Hired PlanSight, Inc. to operate as the <br />Coalitions' GIS Coordinator <br />. Purchased a Coalition computer server <br />structured to house all of the Coalitions' <br />data systems and located it at the city of <br />Rosevi11e <br />. Developed GIS user license and <br />sublicense agreements <br />. Established policy on GIS data <br />access/use/dissemination <br />. Established Community Partners <br />Program <br />. Met with city stafIS to share infurmation <br />on Coalition activities and work plan <br />. Presented Coalition's Work Plan and <br />Accomplishments to individual legislators <br />and to Metropolitan Govermnent <br />Committee in the House and Senate <br />.
