General Administration <br />Miscellaneous items worked on during March included: <br /> <br />. Business License Renewals <br />Staff completed the 1999 business license renewals. This also included the <br />processing of animal control and rubbish hauler licenses. <br /> <br />. Tobacco Ordinance <br />Staff worked with the City Attorney to finalize the proposed tobacco ordinance. <br />This ordinance meets all minimum requirements being mandated upon the City by <br />the State of Minnesota. <br /> <br />. 1999 Committee Restructurinl!: <br />Staff worked with the City Council on finalizing the various changes to the 1999 <br />committee structure. This included the creation of new committees and task <br />forces, clarification of the role of the committees and all participants, and the <br />process to be followed on the transition. <br /> <br />. Citv Facilities UDdate <br />Over the past month, staffhas continued to contact various Army officials to try <br />and determine the status of the land transfer between the Army and the MN Army <br />National Guard. From all appearances, the transfer is nearing completion; <br />however, the process is taking much longer than anticipated. <br /> <br />In regards to the specific plans for City Hall, staff has met with the architect and <br />AIV consultant to discuss the feasibility of reducing the AIV budget. The Public <br />Works Director also prepared some additional information on the proposed utility <br />improvements, which should be helpful once the project is awarded. <br /> <br />. Newsletter Committee <br />The committee is currently working on the May, 1999 edition. The Committee <br />prepared and delivered the April edition. <br /> <br />. Communitv ReDresentations <br />As City Administrator, I've attended a variety of meetings representing the City <br />this past month, including TUG; I-35W Corridor Coalition; Rotary; North <br />Suburban Cable Commission; and MnDOT. <br />
