Communitv Develooment <br /> <br />. Countv Road IlHil!bwav 96/MNDOT Imorovements <br />Staff participated in meetings with City of Shoreview, Ramsey County, and <br />MnDOT officials to discuss the WisPark road connection to County Road I. <br />MnDOT has agreed to allow the frontage road to connect to County Road I. They <br />continue to express their concern about the number of interchanges in the corridor <br />area, and see a need for this to be addressed in the future. <br /> <br />. Personnel <br />The office layout was rearranged in order to accommodate incoming personnel. <br /> <br />. Buildinl! Insoector Position <br />Staff has been working with the City of Shoreview on the preparation of a <br />Memorandum of Understanding between the two cities in order to share this <br />position. In addition, staff has also been involved in the creation of the job <br />description and review of applications. Interviews are expected to take place over <br />the next several weeks and hopefully someone hired in May. <br /> <br />. Parks Director Position <br />Torn Moore began working with the City on April 5, 1999. We have done some <br />brief background and training of the Director position; however, Mr. Moore has <br />been actively working on the various Recreation Program Supervisor duties and <br />has been focusing his attentions in that area. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />. Recreation Prol!Tam Suoervisor Position <br />The City advertised for and received 108 applications for this vacant position. <br />After reviewing these applications, five individuals have been selected for <br />interviews next week. Staff is still hopeful that a new replacement can begin their <br />duties with the City sometime in early May. <br /> <br />. Park Develooment <br /> <br />. Bethel Park <br />Staff met with Bethel College and Ramsey County officials to discuss potential <br />improvements or changes to Old Snelling Avenue. These improvements are <br />being considered in an effort to enhance pedestrian safety. Should the project <br />proceed, the City Council will need to evaluate any improvements in this area as <br />it relates to the type of improvements identified in the city's Comprehensive Plan. <br /> <br />e <br />
