<br />In April, the City issued seventeen residential remodeling permits, which ranged in value <br />from $2,220.00 to $45,706.00, had a total value of$206,920.83 and had an average value <br />of$12,171.81. Also in April, the City issued one pewit for a new single family home <br />($302,032.00) at 3280 Katie Court. <br /> <br />2. Sign Permits (April of 1999). The City issued two sign permits, 99-05 (temporary) to <br />Natales Caffe at 3673 Lexington Avenue and 99-06 (temporary) to the Super 8 Motel at <br />1125 Red Fox Road. <br /> <br />Economic Development <br />1. Gateway Business District. The Staffwith the assistance of Benoit Auction Services <br />conducted an auction of the rolling stock, machinery, and equipment that were purchased <br />for the Indykiewicz's (Brighton Excavating). The auction was on April 16, 1999. The <br />estimates gross receipts from the auction are approximately $77,000. Additionally, the <br />relocation of the black dirt is well under way on the site. <br /> <br />The Staff sent the Minnesota Commercial Railway a letter expressing our desire to <br />continue to work together on the potential sale of the railroad right-of-way. The Staff <br />received a reply from John Gohmann its president (Exhibit A). <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />North Metro I35W Corridor Coalition. As was previously mentioned to the City <br />Council the Coalition has received a sizable grant for GIS software and data (to the tune <br />of approximately $125,000). The Coalition (GIS Task Force) continues to move fOlWard <br />on GIS mapping and applications. The Coalition is moving towards a Phase II analysis <br />of Transportation in the Corridor that will hopefully bring some clarity to the issues so <br />that discussions with the counties and the state can be more effective. <br /> <br />Code Enforcement <br />1. Cars & Boats. The Staffhas been following up on approximately 15 - 20 complaints <br />related to cars and boats in single family areas. The Staffhas been sending out letters to <br />these property owners giving them generally, one to two weeks to correct the violations, <br />if any violations exist. Additionally, after the violation has been corrected a thank you <br />note has been sent out.
