<br />RSC Firm Profile-Projects <br /> <br />i.A.=::' <br /> <br />V ColpOllltion <br /> <br />. Al!ricultural Land Preservation Studv - Metropolitan Council <br />RSC has contracted with the Metropolitan Council to complete a study on the identification of <br />permanent agricultural land in the Twin Cities. RSC provides technical assistance to a task force <br />appointed by the Council and facilities bi-monthly meetings. Outcomes of this project include <br />the identification of regional goals for the preservation of agricultural land, clarification of the <br />roles of different levels of government in the preservation of agricultural land, and a procedure <br />for local governments to identify permanent agricultural land in conjunction with comprehensive <br />planning in their communities. <br /> <br />The project was completed in December, 1997. <br /> <br />Contact: Tori Boers, Metropolitan Council, (651) 602-1621 <br /> <br />Comprehensive Plan and ZoRine Ordinance Revisions and Update - Chisaeo County. MN <br />RSC is currently providing technical planning assistance to Chisago County to update its <br />Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Ordinance. RSC is working closely with County staff, <br />Planning Commission, County Board of Commissioners and community and citizen groups with <br />the following objectives: <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. Review the existing Comprehensive Plan; <br />. Establish goals and identify priorities through an established public input process; <br />. Identify issues to be addressed, based upon identified priorities, as well as analysis of <br />economic, housing, environmental, and use and public facility conditions; <br />. Address urban and rural conflicts and transition options; <br />. Prepare revisions to the Comprehensive Plan, based upon analysis and public input; for <br />review and approval by the Planning Commission and County Board; <br />. Review the existing Zoning Ordinance and identify inconsistencies with the revised, <br />newly adopted Comprehensive Plan; <br />. Prepare revisions to the County Zoning Ordinance for review and approval by the <br />Planning Commission and County Board. <br /> <br />RSC conducted an extensive public participation process, involving representative citizens and <br />interest groups selected by the County Board to work with the Planning Commission on the <br />development of critical issues, goals and consensus building among groups. The process resulted in <br />the adoption of the Comprehensive Plan in 1995 and the adopted of the Zoning Ordinance in 1997. <br />RSC is currently working with the County on revisions to the Subdivision Ordinance and <br />Comprehensive Plan. <br /> <br />Contact: Marion Heemsbergen: Zoning Administrator, Chisago County, (651) 257-0444 <br /> <br />. <br />
