Resource Strategies Corporation Critical Area Plan/Ordinance Modifications - City of Hastin!!s RSC has recently contracted with the Ci1y of Hastings to update the Critical Area Plan and River Corridor Ordinance. Activities include: . Analyze existing documents; . Establish Issues IdentificationlPublic Participation Process; . Meet MNRRA Tier I requirements; . Analyze Tier II requirements for compliance; . Studv - City of St. Paul RSC has contracted with the City of St. Paul's Department of Planning and Economic Development to complete a planning and zoning study relating to the development of heavy industry in the Mississippi River Corridor. Activities include: . Conduct surveys of similar sized cities; . Evaluate the City's official controls; . Evaluate the official controls of surrounding cities; . Evaluate potential environmental impacts; . Develop an interim report; . Develop alternative planning and zoning strategies. The contract is scheduled for completion in the fall of 1997. Minnesota RSC contracted with the City of Maple Grove to complete two Alternative Urban Areawide Reviews (AUARs). An AUAR evaluates development scenarios and assesses potential environmental impacts based upon a range of development intensities. The first study area comprised 1056 acres, the vast majority of which is designated residential. This AUAR was completed in May, 1996. The second study area involved 1261 acres of land designated for commercial/industrial expansion and mixed residential development. This AUAR was completed in spring, 1997.
