. . . ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL - NOVEMBER 8,1999 22 Councilmember Rem stated that volunteers had helped the Parks and Recreation Committee with its October 29, 1999 pwnpkin hunt. Shc expressed her appreciation to Tom, Becky and Natalie Moore, Don and Jan Messerly, and Pam Sweeney for helping. Cowlcilmember Rem stated that she had been invitcd to attend the Minnesota Human Rights Day Conference on December 3, 1999 in Brooklyn Center. She indicated that Sushila Shah has attended this confcrence in the past and if allowed, Councilmember Rem stated that she would be interested in attending as well. She indicated that the deadline to register for the conference was November 15, 1999. Couneilmember Rem stated that she was also interested in attending the Alcohol and Crime Conference. Mayor Probst asked how much registration for this conference cost. Councilmember Aplikowski stated that the Alcohol and Crime Conference registration cost was $95. Mayor Probst statcd that it would be acceptable for Councilmember Rem to attend these conferences. Mayor Probst exprcssed his congratulations and appreciation to City employee, Mr. Pete Saxe, for] 0 years of servicc to the City of Arden Hills. Mayor Probst noted that in the past, the City Couneil has recognized new Eagle Scouts in the City of Arden Hills. He indicatcd that another Scout had recently achieved Eagle Scout and suggested that a letter of recognition be sent to this individual as well. Mayor Probst stated that the Metropolitan Council will be holding a seminar on November 19, 1999 rcgarding the census. ADJOURN MOTION: Councilmember Malone moved and Councilmcmbcr Aplikowski seconded a motion to adjourn the meeting at 10:09 p.m. The motion carried unanimously (5- 0). Dennis Probst Mayor Terrance R.
