<br />ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL - DECEMBER 13, 1999 <br /> <br />DRAFT <br /> <br />6 <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Councilmember Aplikowski moved and Councilmember Rem seconded a motion <br />to adopt Resolution #99-49, appointing David Grant to fill the Council vacancy. <br />The motion carried unanimously (3-0). <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Mayor Probst indicated that Mr. Grant had been invited to, and was in attendance at this <br />evening's meeting and was invited to the next Council Worksession. Mr. Grant will be formally <br />sworn in to the City Council in January, 2000. <br /> <br />ADMINISTRATOR COMMENTS <br /> <br />Mr. Lynch had no additional comments. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS AND COMMITTEE LIAISON ACTIVITY REPORTS <br /> <br />Councilmember Aplikowski stated that she had names of additional new members for the Events <br />Committee that she will pass on to Mr. Lynch as soon as possible. <br /> <br />Councilmember Aplikowski stated that the Operations and Finance Committee would meet this <br />week. <br /> <br />Councilmember Aplikowski stated that she would like to attend the Strategic Decision Making <br />for Experienced Officials training session being held January 7, and 8, 2000. Mayor Probst <br />asked what the cost of this training session was. Councilmember Aplikowski stated that the <br />training session cost $140 per person. Councilmember Rem stated that she too had been <br />interested in attending this training session. However, the Parks and Recreation Committee has <br />scheduled a worksession for Saturday, January 8, 2000. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Councilmember Aplikowski asked if the date for the City Council/Department Head Retreat had <br />been finalized. Mr. Lynch stated that the Retreat was tentatively scheduled for January 14, and <br />15,2000. <br /> <br />Councilmember Rem stated that she will be attending the State Senate Subcommittee meeting on <br />December 14,1999 regarding franchised cable companies and local authority. <br /> <br />Councilmember Rem stated that she will be attending the Ramsey County Library Foundation <br />Launch on December 15, 1999. <br /> <br />Councilmember Rem stated'thatthe- Parks and Recreatloncornmittee met on November23-;-T991T- <br />and has scheduled a worksession for Saturday, January 8, 2000 from 9:00 a.m. until noon. <br /> <br />Councilmember Rem stated that the Northwest Youth and Family Services will not have a board <br />meeting in December, 1999. The annual board/staff retreat was scheduled for February 4, and 5, <br />2000. She indicated that she would like to continue serving on the board. <br /> <br />e <br />
