Metro Transit

Sectors 1 and 2 Restructuring Study
Volume 11: Service Plan

,

This line replaces portions of present Line 12 and also provides new, more direct access to Como
e Park, one of the most popular urban par\(s in the region.

74. Dale

This crosstown line, the current Line 17, is revised to continue north on Dale 10 County Road B2,
. then via County Road B2, Victoria, County Road B, and follow the route of the present service.
This new deviation replaces a portion of the Roseville Circulator system that serves some
apartments. This line, too, should eventually run every 15 minutes, though for the moment only 3D-
minute service can be afforded.

76. Johnson Parkway (No Growth Only)(

This line is the No Growth version of Line 66, described above. Without new resources, the
Johnson Parkway crosstown can run only from Hillcrest to Mounds Par\(. At Mounds Par\( (Bums
and Earl), a timed connection would be provided to Line 69 for trips continuing into downtown.

77. White Bear Avenue

e

This new crosstown running from Maplewood Mall to Sunray is identical to existing Line 20. In the
25% Growth scenario, the service is quadrupled to run every 15 minutes all day, for more effective
connections with the many intersecting lines. (The No Growth scenario headway is every 30
minutes.) After a layover at Sunray, buses continue onto Line 68, so that it is poSSible to continue
into downtown without transferring, n desired.

78. McKnight (25% Growth Scenario Only)

In the 25% Growth scenario, new crosstown service is proposed along McKnight linking
Maplewood Mall and Sunray Transit Center. This service also permits Line 6510 provide a more
direct link between North SI. Paul and the "big box' retail area around 1111l & White Bear.

79. Highway 120 (25% Growth Scenario Only)

In the 25% Growth scenario, this line extends from Maplewood Mall via Highway 244 (County
Road E) 10 Century College, then straighl south via Highway 120 to Sunray Transit Center. This
line permits the Oakdale Flex Route (Line 219) to operate further east for better coverage of
Oakdale.

SUBURBAN LOCALS AND FLEXROUTES (200-239)

201. East River

This line covers the highest ridership parts of East River Road, largely north of 1-694. At the north
end, it continues like the present Line 27 to Northtown. At the south end, it operates via 1-694,
University, 4411l, Central to Columbia Heights Transit Center, replacing current Une 10 service on

Nelson\Nygaard Consulting

5-7

November 2, 1999
