ARDEN HILLS PLANNING COMMISSION - OCTOBER 4, 2000 7 Commissioner Duchenes moved, seconded by Commissioner Galatowitsch, to recommend approval of Planning Case #00-33, Plmmed Unit Development amendment to North Heights Lutheran Church, located at 1700 Highway 96, for the addition of two accessory structures (gazcbos) on the southwest portion of the propel1y, as outlined in the submitted plans, with the following conditions: I. Application for a building permit must be made with the Building Inspector prior to construction. The motion carried unanimously (5-0). This Planning Case will be reviewed at the Monday, October 30, 2000, City Council meeting. NEW BUSINESS Vice Chair ApJlointment Commissioner Duchenes moved, seconded by Commissioner Galatowitsch to appoint Commissioncr David Sand to the post of Vice Chair of the Planning Commission. The motion carried unanimously (5-0). Plannin;: Commission \Vorkplan Ms. Chaput stated that, in an attcmpt to outline items recognizcd as necessary to be addressed by the Commission, she had prepared a "Planning Commission Workplan" for the Commission's review. She added that the workplan will assist in keeping the City Council updated on the Commission's activities and areas of concentration. Ms. Chaput requested the Commission's feedback and suggestions on the workplan. Commissioner Duchenes stated that a similar discussion was held at a recent worksession. Ms. Chaput stated that all the Commissioners wcre not present at that session. Commissioner Baker asked whether the items under "Codification Review" werc prioritized. Ms. Chaput stated they were not prioritized, adding that the zoning code should be amended to include thcse items. Commissioner Baker asked whether each project would take a few months, or whether they could be discussed simultmleously. Ms. Chaput stated the discussions could be lengthy. Commissioner Galatowitsch stated she believed the adult entertainment section ofthe code had already been addressed. Ms. Chaput confirmed this, adding thc chapter has yet to be added to the zoning ordinance. Commissioner Sand stated that the right of way ordinance proposed and drafted by the Cable Commission for review and adoption by each ofthe cities provides limits for the cable companies with regard to municipally owned right of ways. He added he would wish that to be included as part of the zoning review.
